INSTALLING RV PROGRESSIVE 50AMP SURGE PROTECTOR
We were dealing with what we had at the time. We had never dealt with a 50amp RV or its cables before. The rigs we had previously before were all 30amp, so we had adaptors and cables left over. We pieced together what we had but when a few months went by, we became more worried about all the connections as fire hazards. We had 6 plug-in connections from our panel to the RV, so we did our research. We wanted fewer connections, one less thing to plug in, and to feel safer.

RAM 6.7 CUMMINS AIR INTAKE BAFFLE/SILENCER
มุมมอง 6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
hey guys ands gals!! I made this video about removing this turbo silencer. Who doesn't want to hear a turbo spool up, I sure do love that sound. I'm still on the fence about the design of it and how it works, one example. The lower tongue shape, it looks like it evens out the air flow when it hits the turbo fins. So maybe some feed back would be awesome. Maybe there's better options out there. ...

TROLL FALLS IN BEAUTIFUL KANANASKIS ALBERTA
มุมมอง 713 ปีที่แล้ว
We kicked the new year off with a beautiful hike in Kananaskis park on Jan 1/21. We decided on troll falls, it was a great choice. It was so fun, we saw actual troll dolls in trees and there were giant teepees just off the trails. The waterfalls were so pretty in a solid-state of ice, frozen in time. It's a must-see and great hike for all ages. #kananaskis #thedaydreamerhustle #hiking bensound.com

We bought a used but brand new party deck patio railings. At the time we were driving back home from looking at our future RV, we have now. 3100 WATT RV INVERTER GENERATOR

We did our research on many generators for a while, browsing at RV shows, watching countless videos on TH-cam, and asking friends for advice and reviews. Once we have used a few times we will do anot...
FORGE / WELD DIY FIRE POKER STICK
มุมมอง 1.3K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a video about making my first fire poker. I thought it turned out great although it took a couple of tries to get the twist right in the handle. It feels great when you build something instead of buying it "Built Not Bought". If I had to do it again I would have used 3/8" square stock steel instead of 1/2". It's a bit on the heavy side, I'll most likely lose it before it outlasts me lol...
Winter hike at Crimson Lake

Hello daydreamers! We had quite the winter drive to say the least. We picked a Saturday to head out, on our adventure for the day. There was supposed to be activities hosted by the park on Saturdays. We learned later that week, sadly the province of Alberta has cut costs and they are closing some parks. We had a great time overall that day. Gus just loves the snow, he had such a blast. Crimson Lake Alberta park / campground Review
มุมมอง 1.4K5 ปีที่แล้ว
This is my first TH-cam video. My wife and I were camping at Crimson Lake for the first time. We looked on TH-cam for a detailed video about Crimson Lake and there wasn't much. We decided to make our first TH-cam video. It was the week after September long weekend and the weather was still gorgeous out. It was so quiet out there because all the kids were back in school. We both enjoyed our stay...
Dude, thank you so much. Great video, precisely my problem in 2011 3500 Mega Cab, now I know what I'm doing tonight to keep busy pending election results. Thanks for great video.
Thank you that means a lot. I’m glad to help out. It saves people from a big bill at the mechanics
Nicely done. This or the Lippert version is an absolute must!! Our 2022 Coleman came with the standard Lippert frosted, textured glass pane. In the mornings the sun would hit that window and act like a 500 lumen LED light panel and make it impossible to sleep in past sunrise. We rigged up a foam board panel and Velcro to get around this. That did not look very ...classy... I put a Thin Shade in my camper a couple months back. 2 weeks ago we made our first trip out with it installed, and boy oh boy, what a difference that made. I installed our shade in the upside-down position as well. This is a great upgrade to your existing, fronted window or mod to your solid, windowless door.
Thank you, it’s a must if you have the old frosted or no window at all. The upside down way is totally gives you more privacy. I’m glad you liked the video.
Ate the both the same part numbers?
Yes they are
Great job...getting ready to do a door window install on my 5x8 cargo camper. Can you tell me the thickness of the door and the thickness of the window inside the frame...that would be a big help . My door is just shy of 1 1/2" thick....Thanks!
No sealant around the window?
I guess I forgot to show that but you can see a white strip when I install the window. There’s a strip of white butyl tape to seal it up.
@@TheDaydreamerHustle no, you die. I was wondering if after window is installed you used a silicone product or not.
Well done!
I don’t get the plastic piece… the turbo is pulling in air regardless.
I wasn’t happy with it, so I upgraded to a S&B intake system.
I watched four people who had vidios about this, who all made mistakes(should have been how NOT to do it) you got it right the first time.CONGRAGEULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE. (MUST BE X NAVY LOL).
Thank you but I’m just a good old Canadian boy that pays attention to detail
Does this middle one control the floor/defrost? My floor vents only come out of my defrost. Can’t fix it. Please help anyone.
Nice job!
Thank you
always keep the wife happy
👍🏻
It is a highly bigfoot area. A few campers were scared from there a week ago around 3am
I was wondering if you could post all the measurements to the square tubing ?? Of the 4 pieces please
Nice job. Lippert makes a similar version but it uses little plastic catches instead of screws. It’s fine, but I think I like the version with the screws better. A little bead of proflex across the top and sides probably wouldn’t hurt, if nothing else to keep the inner seal from aging.
Where did you get the weights?
At the time Princess auto had them, I live in Canada. Harbor freight might have them. I know if you lookup freight liner or kenworth they will care them.
Great video. Doing this tomorrow on ours. Doing our shade from the bottom as well.
Thank you. The shade from the bottom is great. My other door as well doesn’t have a window in it as well. I was just about to cut and install it on my days off. I’m going to have to wait till my next days off in June.
Start by saying to the wife if you want it your way you do it. Otherwise, hold my ice tea and watch 😅
Fix that leaky exhaust manifold next.... Drivers side is " great" fun to remove...bwahaha
Leaky manifold ? There’s only one on the passenger side with the turbo lol
You're never off the hook bro 🤣🤣🤣
Great build.. plan on doing the same for mine and my dads RV..
Any butyl tape?
I installed this window yesterday. The outside window frame has a bead of sealant all the way around it to provide waterproofing.
Nice job on the install. I’m planning to add one to my RV soon. I also plan to have the shade raise to close.
Thank you😊 we just got another one for the rear door we still have install. Cut another hole in the door, it should a lot quicker 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing
Thank you for this video! I have the same problem but looks like an easy fix
You are welcome
What year is this??
2010
I took mine out and the turbo housing silencer sounds good now love it.
Hey guys great video! So I just found a deal on the physical railing patio part but they did not have the hardware to mount it to the door (both the frame hinge and floor mounts) my question is where did you buy your mounting hardware from? Thanks again for the help!
I read a lot of reviews on Amazon about these actuators only working for a few months after install and then breaking again. Is yours still working fine a year later?
I sold my truck 4 months ago and it was still working then. I’ve upgraded to a 2016 3500 ram.
Hubby said your video was very helpful. Looks great! Thanks. We'll be doing ours soon.
Thank you i was nervous about it. I have an other window for the back I’m going to install this summer.
They year and engine size would help greatly! And the blend door actuator is on top of the box on most dodges so not sure which actuator u changed.
This is 09-12 yr old
You may want to add to make sure its cooled off before you shove your hand down there.. lol
Thanks I have the same problem. Changed the one behind glove box. That wasn't it. I'll try this next pretty sure this will work
My dash was taken apart before I had it and someone missed a screw by electrical outlet. So there is another screw.
Great info - Where did you purchase your mudflaps for this project?
Thank you 😊 I picked them at princess auto if you live in Canada. If you live in the states, I would check your local farmer supply store they could cheaper there.
What was the measurement from top of door to top of window
Depending on which window brand you have it should say on the instructions. It should come with a template for the hole.
What kind of jigsaw blade.? Teeth? Wood vs metal?
I used a bi metal blade
metal,jagged teeth not good.
The foam is there to absorb moisture and the plastic piece is there to direct air to the turbo and more in paticular cool the veins. Check the foam and if its falling apart remove it but leave the plastic piece. Its not a "silencer" and it will in no way eliminate noise. The reason the turbo gets louder when removed is because there is more overall air volume and its not directed to certain spots. Aftermarket intakes are the same way. There all sound,a smidge better throttle response and minimal to no felt power..HOWEVER ITS YOUR TRUCK DO AS YOU WISH
I've put hundreds of thousands of miles on 2 6.7 Cummins and haven't had any issues with foam getting into turbo but I guess it could happen.
Thank you! I have a question if you don't mind. I have a 2014 Ram 2500 with the Cummins and 45k miles. The heat does blow but it's not hot like it should be, kind of mild heat. Could this be the issue? I don't think the truck is old enough or has enough miles to be a heater core. The coolant level is fine. Thank you in advance.
I think you could be having the problem of the blend doors. I was in a mad panic to fix it before it got to cold or my windshield will not defrost durning the winter.
@@TheDaydreamerHustle Thanks for the reply. I figured it out. It was the cabin filter access door behind the glovebox that fell off. If anyone is curious, the two actuator servos for the control of where the hvac is directed are below the radio behind the dash bezel. The blend actuator for hot and cold is behind the glovebox and to the left. That's on a 2014 Ram 2500. Have a good day!
@@alittlebitofeverything5090 how’s you get behind the glovebox?
@@clarencerasure6586 If I remember correctly, there are 2 plastic stops on each side that you pull towards the middle of the glovebox. Then it will come forward and you can lift it off the rear hinge and let it dangle from the stop cord. When you put it back together you have to make sure the glovebox snaps over the hinge before closing it.
Wow! That looks cold. brrr I'm a new friend here to your channel. Keep putting out the good stuff.
Yes it gets cold in that area. Thank you for subscribing.
Good video. I had the same problem on a 2011 Ram 1500 Sport. Only difference is I have an outlet where I needed to remove the trim and remove another screw. I only have one arm so, if I can do it anyone should be able to. Thanks.
Thank you, I have been getting that a lot in the comments about this one screw by the 110 outlet. The previous owner or who ever worked on it before must of missed putting it back. That’s awesome motivation to keep moving forward, I like that. Cheers
What year is your truck? And what issues did you experience besides the clattering door? No heat less air flow?
It’s a 2010. Airflow and heat wasn’t coming out of the front defrost vents. it was almost winter time. It was going to be an issue so I had to fix it. There’s apparently another screw by the 110 outlet, mine didn’t have a screw there for some reason I don’t know why. Just watch out for that one.
Just a add I finally did this to my 2011 last week . When I took the 4 screws out it seemed attached in the middle somehow. I pried off the trim piece on the 110 outlet there was another torx screw on there . That was holding it on so I had 5 screws .
I noticed that also. I rewatched the video and noticed his had the screw post mount.
So with further research I decided to remove the foam and put the plastic part back in. The plastic curve just makes sense for air flow
Does it? Does it make sense?
I just put my (used) BW gooseneck in yesterday, in my 07 Ram dually. It's kinda a bitch by yourself. lol that stupid carriage bolt fishing is a PITA without the BW fish wire. I made one from some galvanized wire I had, Was a tad too soft of wire, but it worked.. until it didn't on the passenger side. I now have a 2" carriage bolt and a bracket laying inside my frame-rail LOL!
I know those bolts and trying to hold it up while bolting it together is hard by yourself. It was hard to film, I was getting frustrated. In the end it turned out good but next time I will get someone else to install it lol.
Looks like you missed the screw behind the trim bezel that goes around the 110v outlet... Was it missing already or did it break off when you pulled the HVAC controls out?
Hey good call on that. It must have been missing already because I when back in my videos there was no screw.
@@TheDaydreamerHustle Has the dealership ever worked on it in the past? You can't believe how many times they will leave that screw out when they put the radio/HVAC bezel back on. Very common!
Where is the screw located? I'm having trouble finding it
Are you having a hard time with the last screw by the 110v outlet?
Hey I have a 2019 Ram 2500. The problem exists even in Ram truck up g too 2021 year. Blend door issues.
That’s good to know thank you. I appreciate you telling me about that because I recently just updated into a 2016 longhorn. It have a few more electronics lol
Looks great guys! Awesome job.
Thanks 😊
Duuude! You missed filming the sunset there, it looks great on pictures. We've never been there but we've really been planning to go, and we're very excited. Thanks for the video.
Its such a great place all year round for everyone. There's so much to do there, I have two other videos as well I took there. One is a winter day hike and the other is our first Geocache at Crimson Lake.
My 2011 Dodge 3500 has an issue such as this except after I turn the key to accessories (waiting on the glow plug light) a rapid clattering noise starts after a short pause even with the A/C is in "OFF" position. It may or may not stop upon starting the truck and if it does stop, it blows and directs the air just fine. But if it doesn't stop, it only blows out at the feet. Do you think it's the same issue as shown here?
Yes because when even when I turned my truck off it would still make that noise
Some times when the key was in accessories it would start making noise. It’s the actuator motor broken and just spinning.
Don’t forget to subscribe 😊
Is it safe to assume that’s the only blend door actuator that could get stuck on the floor?
If you are talking about the one behind the dash on the bottom, then yes. That’s where the bad actuator was for me. I just replaced both because I was already in there.
@@TheDaydreamerHustle thanks for the reply. My AC is stuck on the floor. Heater won’t get hot either. Any ideas for heater not working?
I think that’s to do the the blend door. Mine was just blowing cold air because the door flap wasn’t flipping over to let the hot air threw
Just replace the two that I did and you should be good hopefully
@@TheDaydreamerHustle thanks for the reply. Checking the fuses and relays tomorrow, if they are good I will replace actuators
