Who is this Jesus? - God answers!
Who is this Jesus? God tells us His answer!
This video is part of a series on Luke’s Gospel and covers chapter 9 verses 28-43. Peter, James and John witness Jesus being transfigured on a mountain while He is praying, and we learn what God tells us about Him. But life is very rarely (if ever) such a fabulous experience, how do we get to know God in our real-world struggles?
This study is one of the regular weekly online sessions prepared for Great Shelford Free Church near Cambridge, England. Every study includes the opportunity to find your own answers in the text, so be ready to hit the pause button and spend time looking at the passage for yourself before continuing with the study.
The overall series is called ‘Roots and Shoots’ and all previous studies are available on the church’s TH-cam channel: th-cam.com/users/results?search_query=Great+Shelford+Free+Church. Anyone is welcome to watch and participate in their own time and at their own pace. Feedback is welcome

Who is this Jesus? Everyone is asking this question, and Luke gives us the answers. We see the things Jesus does and enables His followers to do, and we consider what this means and what our response to this question should be. This video is part of a series on Luke’s Gospel and covers chapter 9 verses 1 to 17. The chapter includes the feeding of the 5,000, perhaps one of the most well-known st...

Trump = Daniel 11 19. Biden = Daniel 11 20. Obama = Daniel 11 21. It is Revelation 17:10-11 KJV Trump=6th Biden=7th Obama=8th & of the 7 the 5th head and the 8th. I keep warning what the Holy Spirit said to me after I humbled my self even if it falls on deaf ears. This is not an opinion or interpretation the Holy Spirit said this himself after I humbled my self after what happened to my mum and dad believing as a child trusting God fully like a child does a parent and that small still voice the Holy Spirit answered me. Comment for the full post I cant post it 1st or YT will hide it. I need a comment to post it on so it can be seen.

I have to admit to being a latecomer to the Roots & Shoots party, but I guess better late than never! Thank you Richard for walking us through Psalm 1 in such an enlightening way. I particularly I've the imagery of the living tree being made up of roots, shoots, and on the right season, fruits. I also agree with Lou's comment that, as Christians, we shouldn't fear encounters with non-believers, in fact we should seek out those encounters, but that we need to guard against being swept along with their ideals and principles.

This is a great chapter to start the year with. Reminding us of the reliability of eye witness accounts of Jesus’ divinity, power and love. It can be read alongside the account of the transfiguration in Luke’s gospel chapter 9 v 28-36. It reinforces the fact that even the gospels written by non-apostles (Luke and Mark), were also based on eye-witness accounts from those who were with Jesus at the time, and can be seen as highly contemporary historical accounts, as well as illustrating the power of the Holy Spirit, who took Simon Peter, an ordinary fisherman, and transformed him into a prophetic leader of the early church, as promised by Jesus while he was on earth. Thank you Richard for this study.

Thanks Richard. I love the way you tease out the true meanings of the words we become so familiar with over the years. My observation is that if you look at the way Jesus lived as a man, he was only too keen to encounter “sinners”. It was/is essential to his mission, and, I would argue, is therefore essential to ours, as his followers. What this psalm warns of is being so carried along by the momentum of “the world” that we forget God’s Word. We shouldn’t be afraid to associate with sinners, but do this in ways that enable God’s law to be upheld and promoted. This is what I find hard. What do other’s think?

Thanks, Lou. I agree. We can't be lights if we're hiding ourselves, but we mustn't let others influence us in ways that dim our brightness.
