I fractured my 1st to 10th rib on the left side and 2nd and 6th rib on the right i wanted to know about how should the chest belt be positioned... As the doctor suggested me to wear it on the upper chest portion since the beginning and later when i asked they said in the position you are comfortable in .... I have seen the belt being positioned just above the abdomen in many ads and online pictures but they dont have clear instructions about it ... Can anyone help

Application of Rib belt should be avoided unless there is multiple Rib fractures , because it prevents expansion of chest and retention of carbon dioxide in side lungs. one should continue breathing exercises as fare as possible with proper analgesics . inspiration of oxygen is more important for lungs for general circulation carrying oxygen to tissues and cells.
