This is sooooo nice
Does it drone inside
I waited the whole video to hear you open it up and nothing? :(
Is this a 2.0 turbo?
Yes
Stock down pipe?
Yep.
Do you know if it's a Y-shaped pipe for the muffler delete or more of a U-shape? It sounds like you're getting some nice burbles/light crackles.
Patrick Simpson it's actually a T joint. Not sure if that's why but it seems to sound different than any that I've heard. I really like the sound!
Very interesting. I'd love to see a photo or video showing the fabrication work on it!
Do you know what muffler tips you have?
Patrick Simpson they didn't have a logo on them. Got them at a local muffler shop. They look pretty similar to the corsa ones for this car.
chain guard
rhinenio just a test ride! Chain guard is on now! Just need to powdercoat and she's all done! :)
does it pop at all?
What kind of exhaust?
Johnathan Seppala Borla catback
How's the drone?
CryptiicFrost It's not bad at all!
You should do a video of highway cruising so we can hear how little drone there is.
how much a difference do you think it would be in terms of how loud it would be by deleting the muffler but keeping the resonator?
Magic Juan I did the resonator first and it really didn't make it any louder. Just changed the tone a little bit. The muffler Will definitely make it louder but it won't sound as throaty if you keep the resonator. I definitely recommend doing both!
Yeah I'm getting a muffler delete done Tuesday. I live in Missouri and its technically illegal to not have a muffler. Im keeping the resonator just in case, because I'm hoping when inspection rolls around they will think the resonator is a muffler and pass me.
You best upload a video after all this
You want me to upload a video? LOL
Magic Juan like I said^
How much did it cost?
Mike2469 I payed 250 at a local muffler shop. That's with the new tips too. Best sound for the money Imo.
any check engine light? and is it too loud? do you notice a diff on gas?
Michael Rivera it's definitely night and day between stock. I have a muffler and resonator delete on my mk7 gti. There's a bit of drone but I think it sounds great. Not too obnoxious but enough to where you'll love it.
Michael Rivera no check engine light and sounds louder when on the accelerator in lower gears but in 6th gear it's not really super noticeable
Michael Rivera No check engine light. Mpg is the same. I have another video on my channel of acceleration. It's definitely worth doing and much cheaper then buying a cat back.
thanks everyone. I was also thinking of doing a cts downpipe instead of muffler delete. Any thoughts?
elboriqua196 If you're just going for sound I would stick with the resonator and muffler delete. Downpipes are pricey and a pain to install. unless you're gonna do a chip and a bunch of other stuff to go with it I would say it's not worth it.
Where is the boost gauge?
Ian Above It's in the center of the dash
is it "obnoxious" loud? and is there any drone? I'm 32 and don't wanna be to loud, I've gotten rid of the resonator and it didn't do enough...
I would say your next step would be a downpipe then
Ryan Monaghan I did the resonator first and it didn't make much difference. Removing them both made a big difference. Sounds perfect now. Not too loud at all!
I'm thinking about just doing the mufflers and leaving the resonator to keep it a bit quieter than doing both.
Properly quick.
