I am 62, living in suburbia and now planning to move to 16 acres in Northern Minnesota. This channel is about the work that needs to be done to get a ready and how I am doing it.

We finally put the chains on the tractor. We may not need them but the warm spell is going to turn everything to ice.

Melissa bought some fruit trees that are zone 3b hardy. They have to get in the ground before it freezes hard.
Brush Clearing to make way for trees 1-21

Clearing the wood off the newly ground field (see Forest Grinding prior video). After this, moving bush cut to make way for the electric power near the south driveway and near where the shop will be. Then we have a tire repaired in the field.

Gave you a sub from Upstate New York. I cheat putting mine on . First get some plywood to lay on . I jack the wheel off the ground let the air out of the tire. Roll the wheel to pull the chain up hook it up than air the tire up they fit nice and tight

Come to think about it i want one. Aporox 8k plus skid steer 40k so about 50k. Plus 3k for trailor to haul it and 2500 5.3 liter or better pick em up truck. 60k total. And we are well on our way. Flailer dont play does it ???
You can check out long form to get more specs. Eric purchases these new and trades them in after the warranty, about every two years. Your prices may hold on heavily uses but this rig cost about 125K without the truck and tailor. I have cleared more then 7 acres. 4 in 2019, and three now. Eric did them both.

The face cut is too deep compared to the upper cut, the two lines meets not at the end of each other. The tree was leaning backward I don’t know how much but a back cut first or a bore cut should be used to take down this tree. Every time is not what you know that kill you, is what you thought but is not.
How many straps does it take to lose a load. I want to see what the trailer looks like after you got to your destination.
