Why the gold paint?

I have to admit, seven year old Forza still does some things better than brand new Gran Turismo. Gran Turismo hasn't really been it's self since the PS2 anyway but at least in Forza 7 you can use a custom made colorshift paint on the car's body and still paint specific parts like the hood and wing in a carbon fiber pattern. If you apply carbon fiber to a car in GT7, you have to apply it to the whole car and you can vinyl over any part of it but can't combine it with any colorshift or metallic color which you also can't customize. This may just be on the PS4 to allow it to use computing power on other visuals but, at least on the PS4, GT7 has trees pop in after you should have already seen them and other background graphics suddenly increase in detail after you come close enough to see the lack of detail. It's definitely not visually optimized for the PS4... and the computer opponents and event design were better in the first four Gran Turismo games, plus you could sell prize cars back then and all you needed to enter any event was the corresponding license and a car that meets any spec requirements for the race, now you have to unlock events. It's basically designed to suck with the hopes that people who already bought it will buy in game credits with several times more real money than they spent on the game just trying to make it stop sucking. I had some gripes about Forza Motorsport 7 too but I won't bother to mention them in this comment because GT7 made me appreciate what Forza 7 has going for it.
