''UNDERGROUND MARVEL'' Northern England's Storm Drain Network
มุมมอง 13K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Explore the hidden world beneath a busy town in Northern England, where a modern storm drain system was built in the 1980s to handle severe flooding and urban growth. Stretching over 3.5 miles, this massive network is designed for 1-in-30-year storms, with concrete construction and resilient pipes ensuring durability. As modern upgrades replace Victorian brick sewers with concrete, we glimpse a...

Were you alright in there?
Fantastic explore dude - stunning place! Tight as that 30m crawl. Appreciate the effort ⭐
Sounding like some howler monkeys 😂😂
thebighumpty
this cave gives me nightmares so a few years back i was exploring the cave with some friends but suddenly when we got to the chains the weirdest things started happening it was midnight too so when we got to it we heard a demon or sort screaming for help and when we got closer the some rock came rolling down so we made a run for it
Some people will do anything to get into speedwell cavern for nothing 😂
Wow! Such an awesome adventure!
daylight all the waters. it's better for the environment and people's mental health.
They can't legally arrest you for trespass, can they?
Castleton is a fantastic place. Above ground and below. Been visiting regularly since 1995 ❤
Balls of steel as always. love these vids
A future look?😃
No chuffing way 😂 just the idea of being down there makes me uncomfortable
Well documented ! Love the informative narration 👌🏼🎥
That looks incredible, and if the camera is picking up the details correctly, due it is difficulty in getting there, it doesn't look like there's any mould growth from people visiting and contaminating it like you get in some of show caves around the country. Thanks for sharing bud 👍🏾
I wonder if there’s any caves still undiscovered in the uk that are as big as titan??!!
14:38, “rubber dinghy rapids bro” 😂
yep been there , but on the day it flooded. we barely made it out alive by poping up outside a man cover outside a bus stop
wow amazing
I knew that was the Manchester Ship Canal at the start right away, been up and down plenty of times on ships! Would be fun to bring a bag of tea lights and place on in each recessed square at the 01:00 and 02:05 point.
We’ve been down there, such a cool area to explore! Follow a set of stairs and you end up in a park😂
I respect your appreciation of the built heritage and knowledge of these systems
👌👍
How complex was the layout? looks like I'd get lost down there
I can say one thing, I'd never be able to go into something like this without a closed circuit air system (SCBA / SCUBA), a lot of dead air, and low points for gases to get trapped or sink into, could never trust a digital detector, some substances you never want to be exposed to your respiratory system, even in the lowest PPM possible, some will kill you FAST, some will kill you slowly, some will take years or decades to bring you a horrific death.
Seconded, especially with the link to the shipping canal and presence of chemicals from runoff and or illegal dumping. Not to mention hidden hazards or flash floods. Very dangerous
Very interesting video!
I just realised I am claustrophobic.
Bit wet down there
Absolutely amazing video. It’s so crazy that there’s literal rivers underground that no one knows about. Storm sewers have always been a bit interest of mine as well
awesome cave! what's the torch you have mounted to the side of your helmet, how did you mount it and would you recommend it as a backup light? keep safe :)
Great explore and video 👍👍
The mountain looks its best after rain when the water causes the surface spoil from the mining operations to enhance the metallic colours.
This is what I admire about the English. I had training to attempt a sump entry but most wet caving was in Micronesia, Certified by US Army Corps of Engineers.
Beg to differ. There is enough Karst extent to hide deeper if not longer caves. What the UK lacks is enough digging of obstructed links to unknown extent. And tricks like thermal imagery to locate invisible out-gassing of an abyss.
Love seeing old places like this. I always think about places ive been that were abandoned/uninhabited just sitting there empty as time goes by.
Why why why why and whyyyyy lol That would be my worst nightmare being stuck lol
😅🧔👷🏼♂️📽️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍🏻👍🏽
I recently lived a mile from there at torlwyn overlooking the old brickworks down on the seashore. Great place.great people! I always wondered what was underground there! We had lots of old hidden tin mines along the coast there too!
How much gold do they think is still at this site 🤔
it's about 0.1% per ton, but it's not the gold they're after at the Parys.
@PBRJOHN684 I was just curious thanks my dad always told me that there was some gold there when I was younger thought he was pulling my leg love learning new stuff about parys mountain it's a surreal place 🏴🏔🪙🥈
Went down there last weekend as my 1st srt trip and that vertibrate is still there for people to see
I walked through this tunnel in brand new white trainers with my mates when I was about 12. Fair to say my mum weren’t happy when I got back home 😂. Was just a laugh back then so we didn’t pay attention to the history of it and what the line served etc, it’s interesting to know now that I’m older. It’s brought back memories seeing inside again I can’t believe that old trike is still in there, we found that proper weird.
Why
Have you read The Weirdstone of Brisingamen, famous children's book set in Alderlry, and where the children go underground into the tunnels and caverns? Very interesting and entertaining book! I was glad to have this glimpse of some of these caverns!
Thats awesome! How do you get out?
Please find the exit and are you okay? and pin pls
Flash ah argh lol 😂
Nice video bro
Very entertaining , informative but most of all funny ; I laughed out loud and really enjoyed my trip through the caverns of Alderley . You should get your own TV series .
I could dig that out for you ex coal miner
How far?
