    Thank you for your insights and explanation. I am a student of Yang style Tai Chi and I have watched and listened to Adam but I didn't quite understand what he meant and was saying. I think I get it now at least intellectually which I believe is the start to grasp the meaning of what you and Adam are conveying to all. of us. Chi is very real when you throw a strike you have to balance power energy and speed. However the mechanism that makes it all work is a vibration. After you find the center in your opponent you place different vibrations into it too gain different effects. You can learn the positions through the tai chi classics like rubbing twisting power would be a arm bar where you twist the arm to offset the center of the opponent to fell them. Close up power would be like felling an opponent with push. The methods are based on the opponents center and the angle you apply the power. Li chi would be your personal power which is when you issue the vibration which people think of like a bunch of vibrations however as you refine this skill you can break down the multiple vibrations into one vibration this one vibration is long power then there is short power refined power inch power etc.. they are all mechanisms that form what chi is. Chi is like a steaming pot of rice it pressurizes the pot and the lid lets off steam and falls back into place. This is the vibrational power. Sink vibrate like the beat of a drum and release power. Just like the two chi classics state.

    no bro, I followed you up to 9:24 and it was all right to have an interesing demo of internal taichi training. But after that, your conclusions on fighting, bro, they're complete bullshit. Mr Mizner woudnt stand a chance against a trained fighter. He'll go down broken legs after two rounds on low kicks, and maybe strangled on submission after a hook combo. It's so obvious, he would not know how to move, where to be and when to act. Stay on your ground and sell your art for what it is: meditation, healing, breathing and core strength. Differently, go in a cage with Jon Jones and prove your fantasy

      Honestly mate, don’t waste your time. There’s a reason Tai Chi isn’t used at all high level of combat sports and training, because as you rightly said, it doesn’t work. If it did, we’d see it in action. We all know it, these tai chi guys know it deep down but they’ll live on delusion that is has credible use in a fight - even though the only evidence we have is tai chi masters getting beaten by hobbyist Muai Thai and MMA Hobbyists. I wouldn’t recommend you waste your time as you’re just talking to a brick wall. I’ve literally had a Tai Chi practitioner tell me they can beat someone if they have more ‘sun/san/song’ or whatever it was. Completely dreamland and fallacy and honestly not worth your time. The one I would draw would be between Brian's legs and towards the third invisible bar stool....you know the direction Adam is vectoring to. It's a parlour trick, mate, and you drawing those lines is, in my view, designed to deceive and mislead. I don't know why this BS anger annoys me so much. Scratch that, I know precisely why. People who "visualize" (you are also referring to a tantric like classes of practices/traditions aren't you?) are doing so in preparation to introduced themselves latter to a reality of chi/prana side of the spiritual and "energetic" development (beginners training for directing the internal energies and are very psychologically effective and powerful). Are you guys still promoting your cause by misinforming or trolling on the techniques/approaches of others then Dao traditions? You are discrediting yourself by still doing that. I was hoping that you finished with that "superiority" approach. Sure, you will find rookies that visualize vajrasattva or believing in God stating that chi is a woo woo, but taking those folks for example is ridiculous-they don't represent the traditions. And of all people that you still don't know what tantrism is in essence-internal art to the fullest, that's amazing-huge disappointment.

    This isn't a dig at HME as MANY different Tai Chi schools teach the same nonsense - NEVER simply push an attacker away, you are just letting them know you have skill so they can have time to pull (or get) a weapon, or run away and come back with friends. If you are not being attacked by someone posing a serious threat then there should be no need for a physical response, other than maybe some gentle hands on contact to reassure the person that all is good and fighting is not required.

    • @heavenmanearthperth325
      @heavenmanearthperth325 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Robert, drills like this are often mistaken for fighting. This is not fighting. It is to train receiving and issuing force via the releasing of the tissue in response to the incoming force and the mobilising of Qi when issuing power. It's a co-operative partner drill where he is feeding me force, in this case in the way of a punch; so that I can train responding to it. So he's not an attacker, he's my training partner. Of course we learn to avoid all conflict. Firstly within ourselves, then with others. That being said if it WAS an attacker and I was in danger I would do a lot more than just push him. Just pushing him would be silly.

Now you have confused me - which is a great strategy in a fight but not so much when chatting on TH-cam 😁 - You originally said "This is not fighting" and now you have said "It is fighting application". No it most certainly is not - pushing someone away is good Push Hands training if you do competitions, but is terrible training if you are training for self defence - as you train so you will tend to do under stress. And just to say again - this is NOT a bash at HME, lots of different teachers in Tai Chi from multiple different lineages teach the same thing - somewhere, back in time, I suspect a training exercise (probably to do with unbalancing an opponent) was elevated to a thing - pushing away - that is not combat effective... but, my time machine was borrowed by a man from the 27th century, his had broken down, and I have no way of confirming the hypothesis 😁😁😁

      @@RobertAgarHutton Applying internal skill under duress. Which is an application but is still not a fight. It's not about what the technique or 'move' is; what matters is what you are doing on the inside. Which eventually becomes very applicable inside any different kind of movement. But it must be trained in a controlled way otherwise we invariably revert back to hard force or 'Li' which constricts the mobilisation of Qi and is then no longer Taijiquan.
