Is the resistor necessary for the Ds to boot up?
Hey Mate, this video is super helpful thanks for posting this!

The lights dimmed when he turned on the new fan lol

How have they held up?
Happy birthday I know for a fact that’s the birthday startup
Happy birthday
Are those strong enough to be played by Kashiiks?
What are the dimensions of the cab when the control panel is folded up?
What are they originally wires up for?
How much did these cost you after shipping and tax
Hey thanks for the video so much info here and great troubleshooting
Thanks for making this video. Very informative.
how?
where did you buy these from?
Thanks for making this video, I just got my chewlix after wanting one for many years and your video was very insightful
I plan to use a vewlix alike cabinet for mister fpg, does the chewlix worth the price in the current times?
Hi Anthony i'm in the process of buying 4 of these. I really appreciate you making this video. Means a lot. I had a question about the Xbox you fitted. Does the coin mech work with Xbox/PS4 games you connect inside or is that just for the Pandora Box. E.g. can i fit a PS4 with SFV and have the coin mech working with it to play.
Thanks! I should probably update the video since it's pretty old and at the time (2015) Cheweys were brand new. The universal coin mechs are a bit more complicated than standard coin mechs. You might be able to tap into it and use it as a switch, but I'd instead recommend getting one of the Heartcade Vewlix button panels. That's what I'm doing on all of my cheweys now for mapping start, select, and guide. www.heartcade.com/product/vewlix-cpx
They look pretty great. Useful to know for anyone reading this now. I'm actually setting these up in a restaurant around the back with coin mech. The game SFV is not available unless you stick a PS4 in there. Just wanted to know if its possible for a customer to put a coin in and play from the SFV from the PS4.
@@mij686 Ohhhh, I don't know of a way to do that unfortunately. If you can get a Taito X4, you can run the native arcade version of SF5 though. Not really sure where you'd source the game from though.
So what would shipping be if i order one only? Not worth it then?
I'm not sure what the rates are nowadays, but ordering just one will definitely not be worth it. The price to ship it will be far too high.
So its better to buy a real vewlix From eu? Im From Denmark. A real one is about 2000euros :) thx
And how much did these cabinets cost? and how much was shipping?
They were around $800 a piece off of a seller on AliExpress. If I recall correctly shipping ended up being around $50 a cab to the US, then another $100ish a cab to get them to the east coast. This was back in 2015 so prices have probably changed.
HI does anybody know how wide the side of viewlix L is for getting through. doors when control panel is removed cheers
Does the “Chewlix” come with a marquee holder? Or do you know of a place to purchase one from? Thanks
What connections are on the LCD for video? HDMI and VGA?
I’m trying to purchase a chewlix on alibaba but the whole shipment is confusing as hell. Which shipment term did you get? EXW, FOB , etc. And did you get a fright forwarder or did you go to the port and pick it up yourself?
hai ly fright straight to your door
Awesome video man! Super informative. Have you done an update video of them in action?
I really want to buy one, but just the empty cabinet, I went to Alibaba website, and the total price with shipping is 550, but I don't really now if I can trust them
Check out Wicked Gamer on TH-cam. He test and post links to reputable chinese sources.
Hey Anthony. This video has been very helpful in clearing up some of the things before I purchase one myself as well. Just a question. How does one get around to adding in a console or a PC into the cabinet? Can we put the Pandora jamma board together with a PC if I desire? Thanks!
The easiest way (to know about how) to modify it with console or PC is not to use the JAMMA as controller source. We can use Brook's fighting board to connect the joystick and buttons with PS4. Then, plug the HDMI (if you purchased the original Vewlix, u might need an adaptor for HDMI converting to DVI). For the audio, u might need a HDMI audio and video splitter for letting the audio goes to the 4 speakers on the cabinet.
I am very interested in what you used to keep the current Jamma harness in place but add Console or PC controls to it. Some sort of switch? Any points in the right direction would be awesome!
So here's a really messy example of what I did: anthonythomas.io/xbox-360-jamma-box. I recently switched from those 360 controllers to two PS360+ in there.
Thanks for the video! Which freight forwarding company did you use? They will clear the package from custom for you and ship it from Port to your location right? Thanks!!!
I'm not sure who was used to get it to the US, but to get it from Cali to Maryland I used Beltmann. Someone had to be there in California to sign and inspect as well.
You have a link I am Interested in buying one ?

hey Anthony, how much do one of these weigh?, thinking about buying one but i'd have to take it up a flight of stairs X'D
Very light for an arcade cabinet. only ~150 lbs.
Can anyone answer how much Customs fees they paid for their Chewlix?? Just the customs fees to have it released..
It's been a while, but the cabinets were ~$800 a piece shipped over, then around ~$100 a piece in customs? I paid $1200 a piece total to get them over to the east coast so I'm just remembering the total cost and subtracting the shipping to get them across the country.
Thanks!
The price on these is not that bad considering what people want for their old cabs on Craigslist, or what someone like rec room masters charges for a ikea style diy cabinet. My question is about the shipping. Did you have it shipped to your door or did you pick it up at a local port? They quoted me 280$ to ship it but that doesn't include customs and other fees I'd have to pay when I went to pick it up
We did this in a group buy with some friends, so my friend in Cali picked them up at the port and I arranged shipping to the East Coast. Is the $280 quote to get it to the US or get it to the east coast? Either way that's a great price.
Hi Anthony, just wondering if you've had more time with this and if you can confirm it can be rotated? Cheers.
I've not tried 'tating these, but as far as I know you can since these are Vewlix L clones wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/Taito_Vewlix
Great video!, I am wondering, when you bought your vewlix, did it come with a manual?
Chinese clone usually doesn't come with manual.
importa para o Brasil?
Is that ds at max volume? Is this speaker method pretty quiet?
Great Video! How long did it take to get it to you after payment was process?
If you ever wanna sell one let me know! I'm on the east coast and trying to get one for myself.
Just pulled up this site and they are here in the US... do you feel they are charging to much for a clone? www.coinopstore.com/store/0/15/Two-Player-Multigame-32%22-Viewlix-Clone-Arcade.html
So, it's basically $3100 after shipping. The cost of getting two of these to me was ~$2500. The only reason it was this low (hah), was because we had 10-15 of them in the order, which dramatically lowers shipping. It's roughly the same shipping cost to bring 20 over as it is to bring just one. I don't think $3100 is BAD necessarily, since they're expensive as hell to bring over, then you still don't know what quality control is going to be like. My second one had some dings and paint chips I fixed up, as well as some other issues I heard from others in the group buy, and the minor issues I covered in this video. Considering you're paying to get it to you quickly and easily, with a known quality, $3100 isn't bad, it isn't great though, since you could probably get two over here for roughly the same price, but a hell of a lot more hassle. It all depends on how much work you're willing to do to get them, and fix them up if necessary. I enjoy refurbing arcade cabinets (I have 9 cabs and one pin...), so I was expecting minor issues to go over. Where are you located? My friends and I have been throwing around the idea of doing another group buy for these.
Im in Michigan
not one reply where to get this clone and how much it cost (including shipping)... incredibly frustrating.
enzovoordt Sorry! I don't look at the Google notifications bubble in Gmail super frequently so I hadn't realized there were new comments. The seller we bought these from doesn't sell them anymore, I'll track down another one and post it. They were ~$1100 usd each to get to the west coast in an order of 11 of them. Then shipping to the east coast from there was $400ish.
So here is another one that looks to be the same. It is not the same seller as mine, but looks to be the same Vewlix clone: bit.ly/2r2MrSR
Did you have to buy these machines in pairs? Where they wholesale?
Evidently I'm pretty bad at replying to youtube comments. It was $800 for the cab, then around $200 per cab to ship. Shipping is a ton unless you get into a group buy and can potentially fill a shipping container. After getting it to the west coast it was an additional $400 to ship both to the east coast. Here is a seller with what looks to be the same Vewlix clone: bit.ly/2r2MrSR
Bought one of these a few years back when I returned from a trip from Japan. These are pretty sturdy built. I didn't encounter any of the problems this guy did. I bought mine and told them not to include any of the wiring, boards, screen, guts, etc.. and put in my own gear. For the screen I put in a HDTV because I believe by default these come with a 720p screen that connects via VGA or some nonsense. I didn't plan on using Jamma boards or anything and just use this with a PC and consoles like PS4 etc.
This likely has some issues due to it being a clone, rather than an original Vewlix L.
Anthony Thomas no, I literally have the same cab. mines a Chinese red one like yours. got it off Alibaba
What sort of TV did you use? I plan to get just the cabinet as well and install my own screen.
@@kenmyshey, I seriously contemplating getting the red vewlix clone off AliBaba. I really cant find any reviews on them. How's the quality of the cabinet and LCD? Also was the shilling process crazy?
how much did one cost and where did you go to get it?

go to alibaba to get it
@@anthonythomas1162 The bad thing about buying directly from China is that you would also have to pay customs fees which could get super expensive. The best way is like you did. Group buy with a container.
yeah really good videos bro very helpful. +try to install raspberrypie 200gb Madlittlepixel image and you have a beast. that guy is the best on raspberrypie pie. :)
I ended up doing a mini ITX build with a 970 in it. This thing is awesome like that. It boots into big picture and I just have a bunch of steam arcade/fighting games on it.
Hey Anthony, thanks for the video! I'm just about to buy (at least) 1 from Alibaba. Have you compared these to the originals at all? If so, what would you rate the clone in regards to the original? I'm looking to buy just the frame and add my own computer, screen and controls; is there anything I should know if I am going to route? Many thanks for you help and video!
I've not been able to compare directly to an original, but overall I'm incredibly happy with the clone. I use it pretty constantly now, even though I have 8 other cabs, it's my only HD cab haha. When you build one just know you'll have to come up with some sort of interface to hook the controls up to the computer. I built a box in the end for it: anthonythomas.io/xbox-360-jamma-box/ Though I ended up switching to a different board a few months ago.
