Not all of us are so blessed...what a grand life !😢❤😊❤️🙏🙏😇😇😇 That is so true never goes the way your mind think it should be💕
Just as extraordinary a Speaker as she is a writer. One of the most authentic, raw, powerful and beautiful things I've ever heard.
Thank you for sharing... so sorry you lost your dear friend... I lost a friend to pancreatic cancer and it's so painful... tearful and so moving but loved your humour too x x x
I can't stop the tears. It's exactly as if she was talking about my beloved mother who died over a year ago of brain cancer. My heart is broken, I miss her so much. To this day, I blame myself for everything. I think I finally understood that my mother wanted to live and die her own way.
its not so funny ...
I wish to have slave name that you can rename me my last name to be Gilberts. i’ll be a good slave to you master. I will do everything you tell me to be very obedient. I’ll do your dishes mop your floor clean your bathroom, be at your beck and call and support you in every way possible as required
Hi I am a white ladies slave at heart with deep roots . The only thing I want is to be your slave that’s only thing I want is to be own by you
Thank you for posting this, I think it changed something inside of me
Dear Ms. Evans; I have your painting from 2006 "Receive Peaceful Thought." Bought in Houston, TX, in 2018. Did you paint it in Houston? Thank you!
Wow. Rayya was amazing. What a loss.
Listened to this on npr tonight and so glad I found this on TH-cam to revisit. Such a phenomenal story teller.
Beautiful, laughed, cried.
My mom was on home hospice and died two weeks ago. I am glad that we had the opportunity to give her a peaceful death. We didn’t have the easiest relationship. She wasn’t always pleasant to be with. However I am glad that I was able to take care of her at the end.
i've just cried
but this has releived me a lot of pain today thank you
The most beautiful story and storytelling I've heard in a long time. My new love, Elizabeth Gilbert. What a gift!
I am crying. Thank you
Crying while remembering my mom who just died a few months back, oct 2019. She died from cancer and we fought it for four long painful years. All her children were by her bedside during her final week. It was really heartbreaking seeing the toughest person you knew and loved dearly become so ill and weak. It pierces my heart with agony remembering the difficult days we shared and fought. But she was strong, never complaining, accepting her fate in silence, trusting in God with all her heart and soul. I love you mom, the pain of your death will forever haunt us but the memory of your love and life will eternally bless us with joy and hope.
🌈✨🌸🍃💖🕊💚🕉
Here I am a year later reading your comment, my mother gone for nearly five years and my father gone only days ago. It is incredibly painful to watch those you love die. Watching my father die was excruciating and it will forever haunt me as you say, so I get that. Hard to imagine that I will forever feel okay again. Impossible really.
I can totally relate to this. thank you for your vulnerability . I hope you are healing and moving through your grief. sending all my love
Wow Liz, so powerful, authentic and moving.
Amazing lesson to learn that what can be perceived as a potential threat ends up being a gift .....the guy on the bike was a gift
There is no such thing as a dying person. There are living people and there are dead people. I get this as a stage 4 cancer living person buying expensive carpets and gorgeuos bedroom furniture I never thought I could afford.

Masterful storyteller...love Elizabeth Gilbert's writing and wish she would write a detailed book of her time with Rayya and Rayya's death.
Lol.....she obviously was a huge personality.
This is just amazing.
Wow. That was truly beautiful.
Thank you
"wow .. kids... I am from Connecticut" that was epic
You are a master storyteller. I bow to you.
Elizabeth, you are such a Cancer! Oh!
Andrea Andrea right?! I’m a cancer in four planets. I sensed that she was a fellow sensitive, creative crabby and damn if I wasn’t right when I looked her up. She’s my idol🤟🏼True cancerian embodiment. Such a BEAUTIFUL, talented gift she is💕
@@cactusflowercreations5450 Interestingly, although I've never read this in any astrology book (and I've been studying for 50 years!), Virgos aren't the only detail freaks; being Earth, they tend to manifest that trait physically so it's perhaps more immediately evident ... but I have noticed that Cancers also have this thing about details. Elizabeth G. has mastered this trait (which needs mastering or it comes across as 'going on and on about something' !), through discipline, and honed and honed her writing skills, balancing mind with heart. What's so amazing to me... it's one thing to write well, quite another to be able to speak as brilliantly as she does!! (I'm in awe). She also has strong Libra (air is intellectual, so she is able to take her feelings and translate them into the works of art that you and I enjoy!). I do think that Cancer is NOT an easy sign to be born with (for a myriad of reasons), but then I'm the NEXT sign, Leo (with a ton of detailed Virgo!). Question; do you find that it is true for you, that you notice details that others do not?
Andrea Andrea YESSSSSS, details are my double edge sword in life😩 It’s a blessing and a curse to notice everything as an artist. My mom, also an artist and cancer, has struggled with details her entire career. We put our heart and soul into our creations and strive to make pieces that are different, unique, meaningful and PERFECT. We’ve always known that our attention to detail is what sets our work apart from the masses of other artists work. We always create our own template/vision from our clients request or “ideas” and we turn their vision into something 500x more creative, one of a kind and over the top. We can’t do anything “easy” and constantly challenge ourselves because if we aren’t learning and pushing our limits of creativity, we don’t feel like we are evolving. Our attention to detail sets us apart from so many but we pay a price for it. We spend twice as long brainstorming, trial and error, then polishing, sanding, adding more unique touches once its “done” and then we move to the photography or our work. Perfect lighting, textures in the background, exact placement and replacement of every single strand or inch of the piece. Then the coordinating colors or theme for the over the top gift wrap/packaging with handwritten cards, essential oils on the tissue paper to strike their senses when they open their package. And and and on and on and on. I can’t imagine living without my attention to detail. Not only in my art, but in day to day moments. Noticing the trees, flowers, sunsets, cloud forms, moonlit nights and the sound of rain. Little details so many overlook in life are huge details in mine. I’m learning each day how to let’s go of perfectionism in my work. It’s a balancing act that I don’t think I’ll ever master. And that’s ok☺️
Also, I’ve been diving deep into astrology for the past year (hermit mode-Virgo 😉) and doing some inner work. Sitting under the moon (I’m a Gemini moon 🌚) every night and reflecting, writing, studying astrology, Law of attraction, tarot and so on. Since you’ve been studying astrology for over 50 years🙌🏼, do you have any recommendations for books, podcasts, TH-cam channels etc? I’m always curious to hear favs from other people with likeminded curiosity about life🙂
@@cactusflowercreations5450 Yes! Very basic but really good primer for Astrology is 'Linda Goodman's Sun Signs.' Used to be, you couldn't go to a garage sale without falling over this book! Now, you have to look a little but occasionally secondhand bookstores will have a copy (or there's online). It covers each sign and is invaluable for just really knowing the basics. I love this book. Also, Derek and Julia Parker's The Complete Astrologer (great pictures too! There are different versions... MY favorite is the original 1971 version. A bit difficult to find). Then ... Sakoian and Acker's 'The Astrologer's Handbook' is EXCELLENT; it gives you Moon in..., Sun in..., Mercury in... IT'S ALL THERE! Grant Lewi does a Sun-Moon Combinations book that I love: 'Heaven Knows What'. Another Sun/Moon combo book (that I actually prefer) is 'Sun Sign, Moon Sign' by Charles & Suzi Harvey. And lastly, Isabel M. Hickey's 'Astrology, A Cosmic Science'. THOSE are my favorite reference books. I never read cover to cover, I just have them next to my bed and when I meet someone I'm curious about, I will go and dive in, read, and then SEE HOW IT FITS. I've learnt Astrology THROUGH people rather than the other way 'round. "How does this feel? Does it apply?" It helped me to make sense of people growing up; we moved every year and I needed help! I love Gemini Moons! ALWAYS LEARNING! My Moon is in Aquarius (similar). Where is all that Cancer? Mercury in Cancer REMEMBERS (good at history). And what's your Sun? (Virgo?). Good luck with the books. So fun!!! Oh... when you get a little further, online, youtube: Jewel Mayberry is ASTOUNDINGLY good. She just knows her stuff like no one else. Yay! Have fun with it!!
wow, I am in enough awe and excitement to realize that I could have been in love with them both
<3
Fucking brilliant. Thank you for sharing this intimate moment of your life.
I got here by accident but omg this is beautiful. This woman knows how to tell a story.
Her book "Committed" is a real page-turner and good book!
Yes. I have never even seen her before.
Oh my goodness, What a life you both shared! So very loved by one another and everyone who knows you both. A lovely tribute, I got so teary. God bless you Cheryl, Skip is looking over you. xoxo
Beautiful, & now wondering when these words were shared by beloved Liz, and to what audience? 🙏🏽🌈🦋
This is my favorite TH-cam video ever--it's raw yet funny, honest yet well well crafted, enchanting yet woeful. What an incredible tribute 💕
Wow, Liz!
Such a phenomenal story teller.
Why does the TH-cam algorithm keep showing me Elizabeth Gilbert. I find her incredibly annoying and not at ALL inspiring. Ugh
You can select the option: don't recommend channel
She's literally sharing the story of watching the love of her life die, yet instead of showing support to her in this grieving time you instead decide to show hate. Look within friend, and find empathy instead of apathy.
What do you find annoying about her? She is my biggest inspiration
Who do u find inspiring ?!?!
then go away from here. simple.
LuLu Lemon haha OM Jai MA She-Wolf Gorgeous marvelous Life is hard Life is good! Thank YOU! You're such a beautiful soul
Wow...what a gorgeous story, beautifully spoken. AND funny!
Simply powerful. Beautiful. What a blessing to experience a love like this.
💖
Oh Liz what a poignant story...
💔💕💔
That's beautiful✨😊
Magnificent!
Oprah trying to prepare us for her big secret herself, that her and gayle are in love lol

This was so Awesome! Elizabeth is such a masterful storyteller. Raya is my new Inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
