The Best Game The Tales Series Has To Offer (Tales of Berseria Review)
มุมมอง 10K2 ปีที่แล้ว
A silly little review on one of the best tales games in the series. I believe in Magilou supremacy.
And then you find out halfway through the game that laphicet volunteered to be sacrificed, because he was dying anyways and it does a number on velvets psychic. Although I feel like most of the plot could have been avoided if Atorius and Laohicet just explained the plan to velvet beforehand. Would have made it harder for her to „justify“ her actions to herself anyway.
Is it actually bad like the newest one? I regret so much being talked into trying tales of arise.
gameplay wise, not the best since it's the older game. but story and characters are really good.
While Rokurou is a little boring compared to everyone else, I think he does a great job with what the plot gives him. He spends most of the game as the muscle and comic relif being able to fill in the gaps as a straight man for silly moments, while still being plenty comedic himself. And because of his excessive laid back attitude he wastes no time building dynamics with the rest of the cast. While his character quest is easily the most boring imo. It still provides insight into the Rangetsu’s, Shigure, and how different their ideals are at the end of the day despite being family and sword wielders. He’s certainly not the standout member, but I think he’s stellar as part of the ensemble. Which is to say, Berseria has an amazing ensemble for its main and supporting cast. There wasn’t a single character I disliked and by the time I had finished the side quests and game I didn’t feel like anything was left up in the air. Partially because Zesteria did some lifting to fill in the blanks lore wise, but character wise it was all Berseria. And when I could talk about a game’s story and it’s characters for ages, that says something about the quality of them.
You gotta change your name bro we can’t have 2 noire’s that like the tales series lol
I love Berseria and so i wanted to like your video, but your unneccessary hate for Zestira Breaks the whole video 👎 Yeah its not under the top 5 tales of games, but you do like it almost killed the franchise, wich isnt true, it sold 1,5million copys Also, have u payed for bots? Because there are some comments that clearly are bots
you can barely spell simple words dude, I doubt you have the intelligence to tell if something is a bot or human 😂 idrc I just thought it was funny how mad you got is all, have a terrible day 😢
I LOVE THIS GAME! So I bought this because I REALLY BADLY WANTED to play this! I was so blown away by the emotional story line. The first 5 to 10 hours shocked me because I've played other Tales of games and none of them were anywhere near as dark or as emotional as Berseria. Also the combat! IS AWESOME . I'm sad to say I have not completed it, but thank you for this review as I'm going to get the game and will put it somewhere I can see it and complete it! To be fair, I realllllly enjoy Tales of Arise, Symphonia, Xilia and the others which I've played but haven't finished . I have a rather large back log. But I willll complete this one! And I think after I play it, I'll want to play more Tales games. I have Vesperia and Symphonia on ps4 so I may go to those two. Or Tales of Arise. Anyway , I can tell you put a lot of work into this! :) well done!
If this were a Square Soft game I’m sure Magilou would be the most annoying character in JRPG history, but this is not. This is a game series that is not afraid to have fun. I love Magilou. I just want to follow her around and hear her narrate everything she sees. ❤
Definitely one of the best Tales stories next to Abyss. Highly recommend that one as a well for anyone who hasn’t played it; genuinely great writing there.
Strangers in Paradise I might like better than nioh 2
Love this review!! You speak my language. My little brain mashes the buttons too.
This is a great video! It’s a shame you didn’t make more
This is a good and accurate review. Can't think of any point that I disagree with, Magilou is indeed the best. I've played a total of three Tales games: Vesperia, Berseria, and Arise. Vesperia was probably my favorite overall but Beseria had the best cast and story of the three. Hard to believe this came out in 2017 a year of absolute bangers though I guess the reason it got swept under the rug was being in the wake of so many great games coming out at once.
think the brother sacrifice was bad in the english version? He straight up inpales laphi on his sword in the japanese version. No hover in the air fiery x thing. He just straight up stabs him. x,x. Gives a little more context to why she really lost it and hates this guy.
aw i hope you make new videos in the future <3 these are really good! I had a lot of fun watching this
You just made me laugh so much Subscribed for sure
Berseria is your favorite when you havnt played the good Tales games LOL
Thanks for your video is on sale on steam and I am thinking on getting it.
I know I'm late as hell but with the recent Steam Summer Sale and Tales of Arise looking good (and after about 10 minutes of internet searching realizing it was one of the lowest ranked), I went to see if there were reviews that could sell me on Berseria. This one just did, buying it right now. Looking forward to more videos!
Tales of Beseria is my absolute favorite Tales game! From the combat to the characters everything just clicked for me and once i started playing it i was laser focused on completing it...that ending was a real tear jerker indeed!
I can't wait to see the next noirev2 video! I really enjoyed both of your videos delving into jrpgs!
Just watched this video and my heart literally shattered when I saw only two videos on the whole channel. Why are the good ones always so small? :(
Hey I'm super glad you liked the video! Don't worry though I've got many more videos planned and I'm working on another now. Hope you'll stick around and watch what I put out next!
Tales of Vesperia, Tales of Xillia and Tales of Berseria are my all time favorite tales games
God tier taste right here 👌
10 was my first game in the series and it’s still my favorite. The remaster is pretty solid and I’m not a big fan of the ATB system many of the games use.
7:00 you officially LOST your validation to speak about this game anymore. closing the video now.
aww but you missed me talking about how much I enjoyed the game right after that point : >
I’m sorry but I fucking loved Zesteria. Sure the combat was plenty jank but after I paid attention and read into the story I fell in love with it. Every main party character was a joy to be around and while the areas were pretty mid I still fucking love the game
Oh dude Zesteria is great! I had a change of heart lol. I takes a bit to really get started but I enjoy it a lot and i'd say its in my top three fave Tales games.
Thank you so much for the guide!
Of course! I hope it helped you out!
Hmm i'd say Tales of arise is my favourite but this one is second though.
No one seems to have any info on ff11 these days lol It feels small world being one of the few FF11 players :V
Even though 8 is my favourite game of all time I wouldn&r recommend it as your first FF or JRPG. Junctioning is one of the best systems in the series because it encourages customization and drawing isn't mandatory at all (except for a getting a few GFs). No, the big problem is the tutorials in this game. Most people's first playthrough is going to be rather shit because they have no idea how to work the systems. There is a lot to take in and it is all in a tutorial snooze fest. From the same era 7 and 9 are much better because their systems are really straight forward and doesn't need too much thinking.
Aw dude the tutorials SUCK. The way they are presented is just....its's not good at all lol
i could recognize that voice from anywhhere. what happened to your last channel with much more viewers and subscribers?
In person im usually told that I have a "unique" voice and that no one even sounds remotely like me. Got this whole monotone thing going on that apparently isn't that common so hear that someone on this platform sounds like me is interesting lol. But I PROMISE you this is the only channel that i have ever posted on. I don't have a second channel or a previous channel. This is the only place you can find me on TH-cam. I barely even have social media outside of the twitter....oh sorry ...the X account that I've made for this channel as well. Sorry to disappoint but whoever it is that sounds like me most def isn't me lol but now I'm curious about what their channel was about 👀. Did they do game stuff too?
SuperButterBuns sounds exactly like you and tthey made final fantasy content too, literally made the same topic for a video too, which final fantasy should you play first@@noireV2
Oh I've heard of them before in the past! Haven't really checked them out or anything but I can tell ya that's definitely not me lol. I took a look and they have LOADS of subscribers...like...an INSANE amount. If I had that many I don't think id start from scratch
Good video except how you did FF8 😂 and also idk why u put FF14 in the same group as 13 that's blasphemy lmao
FF8 just wasn't for me dawg I'm sorry but I respect your opinion of it lol. As for 14....well I didnt want to make another section lol
Me whom I literally just barrelled through already more than half of FFIX as my first game. I love that game and I haven't even finished it. (My partner bullied me into playing it)
Its a good time!!
My family was poor growing up, so all I had for gaming in my childhood was a PC. My first Final Fantasy was 4 on a SNES emulator.
FF III will always be one of my favorites, and probably IS my favorite. Although I highly recommend playing the 3D remake, even if the graphics are pretty dated, as it actually makes the characters feel like individual characters. Granted, I don't even remember half the game, although playing through the end, fighting through the temple and fighting darkness while listening to Unspecial Effects by Deadmau5 on my iPod in the middle of the night while I should have been sleeping on my DS is one of my favorite memories of my childhood. Maybe that means nostalgia goggles have blinded me, but it's stuck with me.
For all the FF fans sleeping on 14 because "I'm not a MMO gamer" all I say is: give it a chance. You might be in for a great surprise.
I've been thinking about giving it ago! Its received alot of praise in these comments and now i feel obligated to try it lol
@@noireV2 I hope you'll enjoy it!
Might give the first few a try, the later entries dont really interest me. I was wondering if the 7 remake was a good point to jump in but that doesn't seem to be the case. I love JRPG's but Ive had a rocky history with this franchise. I think the first FF game i got as a kid was crystal Chronicles and i HATED it as a kid i will forever associate final fantasy with those pointy face people and they haunt me. It absolutely put me off anything final fantasy related until my 20's. I even cried when my parents bought me some port of one of the earlier ones on the DS for my birthday because i hated Crystal Chronicles so much. Which is a shame with how iconic the series is.
Final Fantasy definitely isn't for everyone, trust me lol don't force yourself to play it! If its not for you that's totally fine! I know I said that FF7 Remake would be better to play after playing the original FF7 as well as Crisis Core but that's just my personal suggestion, as the remake takes some big story elements from the original but puts a pretty big spin on the story. Like...a REALLY big spin lol. BUT! If it interests you I would encourage you to play FF7 Remake (and anything else that looks fun to you) despite my opinion. I'm just some chick on the internet you don't have to listen to me lol. Like i said, there's no wrong way to start this series!
For SE to remake VI with X's battle system would be a dream! But I still have nothing but all out love and genuine admiration for VII...I lost my JRPG virginity to that game and its still my favourite. What they've done with Remake and the way Rebirth looks however...MINDBLOWING!
Dude im SO stoked for Rebirth!!!!!!!
Berseria is awesome, but I liked Symphonia, Legendia, Abyss and Arise more. To be fair though, I love all the Tales games lol.
Xiii doesnt play itself, i swear if you attempt it you wont get oast chapter 6
Been playing since the first on NES. To me 7 was the last great Final Fantasy, and 10 was the last good one. IMO the only ones worth going back to are 4-7. 1, 8, 9 and 10 are decent and I will go back to them from time to time, but 4-7 is really where its at.
You don't have to randomly hate on games to elevate others, and while I do think that Berseria is better overall zesteria is still a great game. It's the first one I played in the Tales series and it it all good charackters a stereotypical but still great told story (honestly that kind of story is so rare nowadays that it almost felt fresh) and then just everyone is hating on the game that got me into the series in the first place, symphonia could have never done that for me it feels way to clunky and aged horribly. Vesperia might have but the old style fighting system did get boring more quickly.
Nah i like Zesteria alot i just wanted to be ✨dramatic✨
Excellent video, you should pursue TH-cam full time. You definitely have the personality and intellect to be very successful on this platform. Keep up the good work!
This is one of the best compliments I have ever received THANK YOU SO MUCH....i almost don't feel worthy of it lol. Hopefully in the future this can be my full time gig but till then i'm just gonna keep going and keep making more silly videogame content for you guys! Thank you again for the compliment I might be crying 💜
The only mainline FF game I thoroughly enjoyed is VII Remake. I personally love turn-based battles, but absolutely hate hybrid mishmashes of turn-based and real-time battle systems. Thus, I found VII Remake infinitely more playable than VII original. I played VII Remake until I reached the point where you only have Cloud and Erith in your party, and you fight one of those giant bipedal mechs that you've fought twice prior by this point in the game, and it keeps one shotting whichever character you're not controlling because apparently the AI is too stupid to dodge incoming attacks. When it comes to turn-based FF games, the only one I enjoyed was the spinoff game Bravely Default when the first game in the franchise originally released internationally on the 3DS. I played it right up until the final dungeon in the path that gets you the true ending. It was a real grind, yet surprisingly enjoyable.
The internet, the world... And actually me, we all needed this, so thank you deeply
I am proud to have contributed to the overall wellbeing of the world with my goofy final fantasy video
Don’t worry about forgetting Stranger of Paradise. It sucked ASS. Worst part, it’s literally just Nioh but retooled for final fantasy instead. If I wanted to do that I’d just play Nioh.
I wanted to like SoP so bad but idk what happened it was literally erased from my memory the moment i finished it
@@noireV2 better than how I did. I quit like, half way through.
this was an excellent video, looking forward to the next one!
Thank you!!!!! I working on the next one now! Stay tuned!
Fun Fact: The reason FF7 character models look the way they do is because the game was originally developed for the Nintendo 64. Since they couldn't go bigger with the cartridge format they decided to move to Playstation. That's why there's a huge jump in character detail between FF7 and FF8
I always forget about this fact!
My first Final Fantasy game was Final Fantasy 1 on the NES. :^( I'm *old* bro. Ahem, that said! Fun video! I could see the Tidus laugh bit coming a mile away, but it'll definitely never get old. Heck, I'd say it's good because it's so bad it inverts to being good. X) I would probably recommend 6 to new players myself. Give them the best of the oldguard, it'll be useful for some spin off games too. ..... Also I lied, my first "Final Fantasy" as the spin-off Final Fantasy: Adventure. But that turned out to just be a Square-Scheme, and not a Final Fantasy at all! (It was a World of Mana game in disguise!!!!)
Fun fact: Final Fantasy V is really popular in Japan, it makes it onto top 100 video games of all time lists. I’m playing FFVII and will play FFV during my FFVII play through when my brother comes back from college. Also I would choose Final Fantasy III over the original. It’s just the best of that era and is one of the most popular Famicom RPGs.
I also prefer FF3 over FF1 but thinking about it from the perspective of someone who has never played a jrpg (or at least not an old school jrpg) I thought FF1 might be an easier point of entry. Don't wanna scare people off with having to choose between all those jobs lol.
Nice video. Thanks
