I think that being closed-minded in the social work field can have a negative impact on both the social worker and the client.

As a social worker, it is vital to understand a person and their perspective on life and social aspects. Respecting the client and who they are is important to being in the social work field

Thank you for this! I'm a community mental health social worker and heard about the TNJ campaign through my work with WCJA's Justice 4 Women Task Force. I'm a Fordham alum who interned with WCJA and love supporting their advocacy work, so when the TNJ one-pager was shared at the last community meeting I was eager to share it with the Black Alumni Caucus during our 2023 Social Work Month conversation on breaking barriers in mental health policies and practices.❤

Phobia [foh-bee-uh] (noun): an intense, persistent, irrational fear of a specific object, activity, situation, or person that manifests in physical symptoms such as sweating, trembling, rapid heartbeat, or shortness of breath, and that motivates avoidance behavior. Where is the "islamophobia"?

You made so many great points about social work education and how we can improve the social work community for both the clients and the professionals. This is an important conversation that we need to continue having.

This interview was moving in every way possible. It is very important that the social work profession and institution as a whole creates anti-racist social workers. Eddie you are exactly what we need in the profession, individuals taking an anti-racist approach in practice and incorporating the client's spirituality into their care. You have given me a lot to think about and learn. Keep doing amazing work Eddie!
