Autódromo de Buenos Aires Oscar y Juan Gálvez with (by order of appearance) Jean-Pierre Jabouille, Héctor Rebaque, Jacques Laffite, Didier Pironi, Carlos Reutemann, Bruno Giacomelli, Alan Jones, Alain Prost, Mario Andretti, Andrea de Cesaris, René Arnoux, Ricardo Zunino, Nelson Piquet (Pole position and race winner), Patrick Tambay, Elio de Angelis, John Watson, Gilles Villeneuve and Eddie Cheever.
This is the 1st podium (finishing 3rd) for Alain Prost where he had scored on that same track a year earlier his first F1 championchip points on his 1st race.

Agreed. Thed did that to "increase" overpassing while adding one additional grandstand but failed miserably with the former so by Today large car standards , it would be more fun to come back to the original chicane.

Actually, I have to ask ... is this the MP4/2 or is it the MP4/1E?? It looks an awful lot like the 1E they ran in South Africa at the last race of 1983 (note the quick fuel re-fillers on either side behind Prost's head). And point of fact, Prost is still wearing his 1983 helmet (the design changed slightly in 1984).
You are probably right and looks cold for Castellet so probably shot early January while preparing the new car.

Never seen video footage of this car in action. Wow!! That sound is magnificent! MP4/4 is my favorite F1 car but I have a feeling this one may have topped it if given the chance. Incredible! Senna said he liked the car...I 100% agree with him.

That is because he was directly shifting from 5th to 2nd gear (as you can see it at Zandvoort before Tarzan curve) with a very long and high rev heel-toe instead of downshifting one gear at a time like all other drivers.
Prost is credited for accepting the fight with Senna from 1988 and to learn he is another beast

Lamborghini engines in the end of 1993 had 710 hp . The last evolution for test had 750. Also V 12 was heavier , the car will have bigger dimesions , more weight and more fuel because V 12 needs more fuel The same power had Peugeot A6 , Ilmor mercedes v10 engines. Ford zetec had 740 but was only for Benetton Older ford HB and Mugen Honda had lower power. It was impossible for McLaren with all these engines to compete williams and Ferrari with more powerful engines.

Peugeot made mistake to design F1 engine in October of 1993. The engine run irst time in dyno ,in Christmas of 1993 and run for first test , in McLaren car , in February 1994. It was too late in three months to design and test an new F1 engine

Next day Prost broke his wrist and couldn't start. (update: Oh no, I was wrong, that was two GP's later).
I remember he broke his wrist but thought it was a different Grand Prix since I recalled that on his first F1 Grand Prix he finished 6th.
