Deimos as Cassandra fits so perfectly because in the worst ending she seems so nice until she just ends up looking psychotic unlike Alexios who looks one non trustworthy but not only that if you compare both Deimos if you would pick someone to trust between them you'd more than likely pick Cassandra over Alexios

And then it would have been equally jarring to see the difference when you started _Brotherhood._ They didn't care as much as you care about this particular kind of opportunity for hypercustomization. But I think they cared about the right amount.

I like to think he targeted this mark specifically because he knows he’s good, and so he equates that to him being weak. He cares more about getting revenge on mark, and to him our mark is the easiest target.

My problem with female protagonists are that there's no way they could beat 2-3 men at the same time in melee combat. If the game only revolved around stealth, assassinations, poisoning and archery, sure. But the idea of a woman wielding a huge axe and destroying 2-3x bigger opponents is too immersion breaking for me even in a setting of Assassin's Creed and all the Isu stuff going on in the background. Kassandra as Deimos was fine, because as she said she was a demigod, so it makes sense why she was powerful enough to kill Brasidas for example. But female Eivor is just outright stupid. Yes, there were female fighters in the viking era, but they were mostly archers or camp organisers, not frontline fighters simply because even tho they could block a sword swing, the weight of the swing would absolutely overpower them and either they would get tired too quickly or just drop their shield/weapon on impact. Women's frame is not designed for that kind of stress.

Odyssey without Alexios as the playable character would have been a blunder. He was perfect for the role.

Thing is the assasin's creed games went downhill when odyssey was released, the fact that they didn't even make the game accurate.

As female, i found Alexios made more sense and a thing everyone cant mention but us as women know too well is that, there's no way in hell a woman can be that strong, i just found it so unrealistic even though i loved Kassandra but yeah. Alexios had the vibes of the main character a lot more and his voice actor was one of the best performances in game which made him more charismatic and enjoyable as the main character

Even in modern times, women and men have different section in the olympics. So kassandra would not be fist fighting men in the olympics part.

I did notice that there were also a lot of normal soldiers and other mercenaries that were female, which is probably the reason it didn't feel off for me that Kassandra was trained in Sparta. As for the crossover, yeah I agree, but I could imagine the reason being that the devs were subtly rebelling against executives

Gotta disagree with a few points you made. Basically female eivor and canon Kassandra both make no sense because the game lore has made it clear that reincarnations are direct reincarnations, that means gender, looks, eye color, everything. The main character of odyssey is supposed to be a reincarnation of leonidas so Kassandra makes no sense there and eivor is a reincarnation of Odin so a female version makes no sense there either. I'd love to see a female main character ac game as long as it makes sense and follows the lore of the game which they seem to not care at all about anymore

Played AC Odyssey 100% 20th time. Always chose to play as Alexios. Feels just right. Love Alexios as Eaglebearer and love Kassandra as Deimos. This is my honest opinion :D

I can't say he's tragic only because 100% of Fern's issues stem from having an evil curse demon puppeting a Finn body around. It's less a fusion and more the demon viewing the world through the lens of Finn's body and memories. All of his impulses and desires are evil; he never makes any attempt to do anything good unless he thinks it will earn him adoration. It would be a very interesting problem if it really was another Finn clone and one of them knew they had "lost the coin toss" and had to use another person's body. Their motivations remain the same, but the world reacts unfairly to some new, perhaps horrific looking form the other Finn has to take on. But that's not the case - Fern is just evil, and an almost wholly bad person until they kill Fern, leaving only the original Finn that was Finn Sword. Really, Fern narratively only serves to show how good Finn innately is, from his impulses, motivations and desire to see good in things.

I still didn't get over how fern died basically exactly like his premonition dream on the episode "blade of grass"
