    Considering where most articles of clothing are manufactured these days, it's a good idea to wash new ones as well before wearing them. Factories that are willing to use child or slave labor are also most likely not too worried about cleanliness or use of dangerous chemicals. It never hurts to be cautious, even overly so.

    If our economy wasn’t being crippled from the strain of housing millions of people that are flooding our country and having so much of our tax dollars being funneled to them for housing and everything else that they are being given at our expense, there would have been money to address the needs at this plant. Legal immigration not criminal invasion, huge difference.

      @emergencyfood3568 5 āļŦāļĨāļēāļĒāđ€āļ”āļ·āļāļ™āļāđˆāļāļ™

      If Mexico wasn't being crippled by drug cartels that the government is straining to overthrow and fighting a losing battle against, their citizens wouldn't feel forced to flee to a country not under the dominion of said cartels. You're acting as if everyone escaping Mexico comes over here to immediately start engaging in criminal acts or does nothing but leech off the US economy. A large portion of those 16 and older, 68% in 2021, were in the US labor force. They don't have to work, but they do of their own volition, to support their families and/or give back to the country that's clearly 100x better than theirs. They are supporting the workforce, earning money, and paying taxes on their wages too. 68% is not 0%, so our tax dollars aren't being funneled to as many as many slouches as you think. How about you remove your bias and picture life in a city controlled behind the scenes by a cartel. You and your family could be approached in the street in broad daylight by drug runners and have all your valuables, money and vehicle stolen. If you refused, you and your relatives very well might end up shot dead on the spot. You can't even fathom living under that kind of oppression when you have a pampered and protected existence here in the US. Average citizens there can't do anything about it, nor can they rely on the police for help. Unless you're one of those hardcore types willing to form a heavily armed citizen militia and go around patrolling for cartel activity and members, you stand no chance. It boggles the mind how people believe Mexico is some sort of paradise and that all the citizens should be trapped there and forced to wait however many years it takes for legal entry to be granted. Doing so costs more money than a lot of people have, and I can only imagine how many people who do manage to afford applying for US citizenship are killed by encounters with cartel members before citizenship is even granted. And what about the children whose parents bring them across the border? They have no say in the matter. Their parents can't, and won't, leave them behind, especially when they have no relatives to care for them. They come over here only to be shipped right back to the hellhole they managed to get out of? If US citizens were forced to live a year in Mexico and experience firsthand how abominable wages, conditions, and life is there in general, they'd finally realize why so many of them are paying thousands of dollars and risking their very lives to escape. Maybe then they'd stop being so judgmental and apathetic towards the suffering of other humans. There are exceptions to everything, and in an extreme situation like that occurring in Mexico, immigration laws are trivial in comparison to the value of one life, let alone multiple. Sometimes laws have to be broken, and this is one of those times where doing so is completely understandable.
