I recently had a bit of a scare when my tire pressure warning came on during a night highway trip from Toronto to Hamilton. At the first chance I had, I checked the tire appearance and they looked fine but on checking with a pressure gauge I found that the fronts registered at 28psi and the rears at 38psi. This was from the dealer and the manual recommended 33psi on all tires. I have no idea why the dealership would over inflate the rears and under inflate the fronts before they turned the car over to me. Anyway, I adjusted the pressure in all tires to 33psi, reset the computer warning pressure point and everything has been fine since. If you know any reason why the dealership would err in this manner, please advise.

i have an issue with mine. I believe it’s my PCV valve. It connects to my cold air intake and runs under the engine cover to the rear of the engine. The valve won’t snap onto the adapter anymore. I can’t find a new part for my 2017 Mustang ecoboost.

2018 Hyundai Tucson. Exhaust fumes in Cabin ... oddly increased when windshield wash is engaged (weird right?). No 'ticking' noises to indicate exhaust manifold leak, but I'm not ruling that out ... haven't check PCV valve yet, but I'm going to use my analyzer (if I can find it) before eliminating that possible problem. Any suggestions would be great. TIA

Excellent presentation by FIxIT ADDITIONAL REASON: 'particles' in nature have an electronic surface charge (usually a negative charge + other molecular charges, such as 'Van der Walls charges', etc.). The filter materials (cellulose and epoxides) are chosen to have 'natural high' positive electronic surface charge. These differences of electronic charges are 'consumed' depending on the amount of particle deposition in/on the filter material. Other, these particles due to their surface charges tend to agglomerate (stick together, over time) into 'larger and larger sized' particles .... so that over time the sub-micronic sized particles will 'grow' in apparent physical size. The SAE defined (~1940s) 'MOST DAMAGING PARTICLE SIZE' iri an IC engine is ~20 µM (micrometers); although currently, in high quality engines; this particle size is rapidly decreasing due to smaller oil clearances, etc.) .... and most oil filters 'were' designed to capture ~15-17µM particles (max.); but at only ~90-95% removal efficiency (per pass through the filter) Changing an engine (quality) lube oil filter at EACH oil changeout is "one hell of lot a cheaper" than replacing a prematurely worn out engine ... or vehicle. (A long time ago I was an SAE lubrication engineer. With other (DIY) normal maintenance, I typically get 300k+ miles out of my IC engines. Many of the presently produced loose piston ringed vehicles cannot 'make it' past 80K miles !!!!!!) The KILLER in most IC engines since 2010-12 is purposely mandated LOOSE piston rings (BTW - to increase the govt. mandated 'fleet fuel economy') in which those loose piston rings are prone to quickly become STUCK and which prematurely destroy the cylinder walls, etc. !!!!! Rx: change the oil **and FILTER** BOTH at 50% of the recommended changeout interval if the majority of your driving is short distances & stop and go 'city' driving. If 90% of your driving is steady state (cruise control ON) 'open highway' driving ... then change at ~2/3 of the recommended changeout interval. There are other recommendations to prolong engie in-service life, such as only using TOP TIER gasoline and TOP TIER lubrication oil .... both with more and more efficient 'detergents' and other highly beneficial 'additive' packages, including oil **anti-OXIDATION** retardants. FWIW, I personally use Valvoline RESTORE and PROTECT, etc., etc. engine oil every THIRD (DIY) oil and filter change out. As stated, I usually get 300k+ mi. out of my IC engines . Most importantly, I also dont BEAT my engines, especially when they are **not FULLY 'warmed-up' to normal operating temperatures**.

What's the difference between a purge valve and a EGR valve??

If stuck closed, will it still be ticking?? I replaced it with a aftermarket one 2 years ago and still haveing same issue. And should the fuel vapor line be open. I tried to blow into it but couldn't. I used to top my tank all the time, thinking it may be the charcol canister? Every once in a while it starts to idle rough when the engine light comes on. I just ordered a new OEM Mopar purge valve just to see if it's the problem.

I have a 2014 vw touareg. A sensor went bad, i bought the sensor,but,no way in hell can I found where it is located. I took it to a mechanic and they can't find it. It has the v6 fsi motor. The fan kicks on all the time and is making noise.

Can anyone help. I have a USB port in my Corolla. Previously, I used to connect my iPhone 15 pro max to it and I got a decent charge (% was stable and didn't drain but neither charge) and played music. Then it started disconnecting randomly. Now the port doesn't work at all, but I tried my girlfriend's cheap Samsung phone and it does. A few months later, my Costco interstate 3 year battery is pretty dead (38% SOA) after 2 years in service. Can the USB port issue be related to either ground issue or dying battery?
