My Thoughts on Simply Piano
I've used Simply Piano and Piano Maestro off and on for the past 6 years or so to give my students another avenue for approaching the piano or as a recommendation to folks who aren't ready to commit to lessons but would like something to help them on their musical journey.
It could be a fun option to start with If you’re curious about piano.

I love the best and synth mix
Nice show bud! Thank for sharing!
Sounds like a Minecraft song 👍
That tone, and the piano’s feedback to the player, like a good guitar. It’ll bring the best out you and you’ll give it what it’s needs.
So sweet! But remember, Every Rhodes has a Thorn…
@@Jin-Hu I can’t unhear it 🥀🎹

I wanna get that good
Simply Piano is great! Thank you for sharing Gabe!
Great
Nice. Just picked up a Grandmother Dark to go with my Matriarch Dark. Love the combination.
Awesome!
Cool performance, into it, already subbed tho' :)
Simply smashing! Can I ask what app that is please?
Great! It’s really nice to hear the Matriarch used in a musically structured arrrangement, rather than just for abstract atmospheric soundscapes. You demonstrate the performance capabilities of this instrument. I have one, and I’m still on a learning curve with it. This is very inspirational. Thanks!
Wow. Thanks so much for this comment. That’s awesome! Be sure to check out Lisa Bella Donna’s solo playing on the Matriarch too!
Yes, I been following Lisa Bella Donna for a while. She’s great! Cheers
what's that potato zombie in the window?
That’s a Kodama from Princess Mononoke.
Eye love it! 🔥🕶️💜💜💜
Amazing sounds I love my Mavis 🎛
Nice❤
Rediscovering this a year later and it's still awesome 😎
This is so trippy but in a good way!? 10/10
Nice
Fantastic! Very brave of you. I try to wrap my head around doing some kind of Matriarch/Grandmother installation. Always seems daunting. Bravo
!!!! This is beautiful
Kicking around ideas at the soccer field, Lovely setting
So awesome to have learned this from you👍ty. I have to wait roughly 50 plus days until it arrives in my bedroom/ On back order. Until then. I want to learn as many things as I can about this machine b4 it arrives. I have lots to look fwd to as I have the moog soundset already. But im really excited about the matriarch coming soon. God willing, I'll see that day, then I'll have the whole team. Just sayn. Again you👍🫡
Much Appreciated. It's still my fav!
Takin a dump, learning something. A casual thing in 2024
I think the amount of work and learning that occurs on the toilet is probably vastly understated.
that was just beautiful

Nice
And let the folks know: The GUI ScALER button is TINY and fairly well HIDDEN (upper LEFT)
Yeah. I meant to mention that. Thank you!
@@GabeChurray have you compared this to the Korg version? I noticed Skippy (plugin guru) and a friend have just released a 2600 soundset-works on the Korg Only
Sound SO good! You KNOW it's LEGET if SCARR is using it!! Mister Zebra. I can buy ALL FOUR COLORS in Behringer ($2400.00) or snag the WARP V2 and spend FIFTY BUCKS. 🍎 Forbidden fruit!
nice walkthrough, thx
Glad you enjoyed it
No longer will I ever care to download 808 samples again. I can design my own without the use of a DAW (PC)
You do you!
Good Stuff, I think at some point I'm gonna grab one of these
Still my fav!
Your playing does justice to this amazing synth 🙌🏾
That's very kind. Thank you!
This reminds me of Africa Bambata !
Awesome stuff, how do u turn it back to transposing with each note press?
You repeat the same steps but press the lowest C on the keyboard (CO) to turn sequencer keyboard control ON.
kinda awful if its coming from mike dean tbh.. though i have to say that mike dean just uses the most basic of sounds most of the time ive never heard him play a patch that blew me away. I'ts more his playing and musicality than anything else tbh..
These are definitely more utilitarian, but sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
Yo... you looking at the muse? I have the Gma and Maitch, and Im wondering if I need to considering along with the Prophet 6, I have alot to work with already...
I mean…. I’m looking at it, but that’s about all at the moment. 😅
Dude this was really cool! Keep up the good work!
Appreciate that
@GabeChurray no problem. Its really cool. Really calming.
i remember using this plug-in starting around 2010, when i would've been 15. it blew me away with the complexity, richness and "realness" of its sound, so much so that i still occasionally run the original version through a 32-bit adapter on an older Intel Mac. it is, absolutely, my favourite plug-in bar none and i can't get enough of it's sound, and i can't believe i might be able to run it again, natively, without crashes... holy moly. wow.
goddamn it i can't believe it. i still have sketches made over 2010-2022 where there is some instance of TimewARP doing the coolest sound in the track and to open that i have to grab my old laptop (i'm not even sure the project files survived my transition from Windows to Mac in 2018), and it always just barely worked. i am so excited
Wow. That's incredible!
Oh wow, and Korg just released the 2600 VST as well. Will be interesting to compare them. The Korg version sounds awesome, but this also looks really good.
Whoa, I'll have to take a look. I'd love to try out the Korg 2600m
Just got one today, heavily discounted, only two left here (Israel). Looking forward to get it to use.
Whats this?
There's a few things going on here: AUM (the mixer looking thing) is hosting Patterning (drum machine, looks like a circle). Animoog and Moog Mariana also in the mix..
Confirmed my thoughts! I'm looking between buying the 2020 version with all the physical dials and the 2024 one that's all digital interface. I like being able to adjust the dials and not have to tap tap tap into a screen. Sounds like this version still takes the cake!
@@sentientbeans I love it. I was literally thinking about buying another one the other day, for insurance. Ha!
Riley school good job, thanks for sharing, i subscribe to your channel 🐕
USB c hub with audio out I presume? Is it dc coupled? Nice ideas
Yes. USB C hub with audio out. It lets me connect MIDI and keep everything powered. Actually I'm not entirely sure if it's DC coupled or not.
This is so cool! Love how well the realtime musical reactions convey emotions in a way only music can. It really Captures the beautiful strangeness of space.
Much appreciated!
The part at 16:10 goes hard!
Thanks for checking it out!
