Some Sidefacts: Babeli is a true legend of the game, he participated in early gbb's when he was like 18 or sth and influenced a lot of huuge beatboxers with his style and sounds like Codfish f.ex. Lionfreak on the other hand was pretty young and kinda fresh in the scene and is now one of the leading faces of the upcoming generation in the german beatbox community :) PS: Make sure to check out the Loopbattles for that year as well, the battles were really groundbreaking and boosted germany to the top of the loopstation-scene in the world where they are eversince (ofc alongside 1 or 2 other countries) And a lot of people say that the loopstation battles are above GBB level

Alexinho is crazy talented and a world champ for a reason, but there's no way this was a freestyle. I don't think anyone could freestyle the rhythm switches and bring it all back around at the end.

Like he references in his 2nd round routine, he was considered a prodigy when he was coming up around 2019-2020. Everyone's wanted to see him on a big international stage for a while and he was really hyped by the crowd this year (2024).

I agree with you, it progressed away from loopstation in the way, that everything is just way more produced and cleaner, but i really like the format, and most importantly the music. Especially my personal favorites this year, KBA and Kaos

That year, loopstation battles were limited to a single device. That is, MK 1 or 2 and the possibility of using a novation launchpad at most (Dice used it) This device helps you to make your rounds faster. In contrast, the producer category allows the use of practically unlimited devices. For example a Line 6 Helix and other devices that give you a lot more effects, variety in your rounds, etc. (As long as everything comes from your mouth) Also the timer was extended to 8 minutes.

My guy you might not know this but Robins win was such a big deal to him because he was in a bad accident and unfortunately his friend passed away. Most of the music from this whole competition when it comes to Robin is obviously in their memory. I happened to know about this just before GBB dropped and the footage damn near broke my heart but seeing his music make it to the finals and win? It was such a heart felt warming feeling that now even my kids no older then 10 enjoy his music. Not to mention they ask on the regular to listen to loop station beat box music. I have been following GBB since 2019 and strongly believe in your idea of a producer category. AVH and Robin would be absolute Goats which is why I love them so much. Honorable mention that would blow your mind is Rythmind vs. Frosty 2021 . . . . Literally a mind blower. watch it for your own WTF moment or feature it here.
