Although there is a vast array of different meditation techniques, a key component in meditation is the capacity to focus one’s attention on a meditation object, and, in this way, diminish mind-wandering. The difference between different meditatio...

    I'm certainly not expert enough to claim my comment is true and on the mark-- however: Give your explanation to a Gloria! Given your explanation, I want to be as far off the mark as possible!

    In the middle class, fright is often covered up by a smile, and the same incongruity for aggression. Among the poor, however, one is more likely to see congruenncy between affect and object. What I saw talking place in this "session " was Perl provoking Gloria to express herself by actively engaging Perl with anger--instead of being passive and disengaged--as young children tend to do when frightened and feeling threatened, which suppresses feelings of embarrassment and anger leading to feelings of helplessness and anger directed against the Self. This can ultimately lead to a schizoid conflict within the Self, undermining development into a mature, sincere adult.

      I don't agree with you at all. Your analysis misses by a mile. Whilst Pearls was a pioneer in psychosomatic integration, for which he must be applauded, what he failed to take into account are which aspects of micro-retardation within neural developmental circuits might be responsible for most of his clients responses. Is the source of the emotion that arises in response to disturbance psychological or due to a neurological deficit?? Perhaps the "corner" acts as a surrogate milestone and is not an immature response to growing into maturity??

      @@davereid-daly2205 For you, based on your comment, there are no human beings, only "neural circuitry" and other automatic processes--which is dehumanization consistent with the direction this society is going.

    Was it meant to go silent from 2 mins to 5 mins?

    • @Sensingmind
      @Sensingmind 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a recording of a guided meditation from one of my workshops. Sometimes, I set the tone and then give space for people to just settle. Silent time for the dust to settle. If you find it is too long, just skip ahead and start at 5 min ;)
