Hiii Yasha Ma'am Thank you so much for helping us with these videos What might be the range of salary for a radiologist matched through Alternate pathway from 1st yr to 4th yr . And what one can expect post 4th yr . Is there any major differences between the Residency program and Alternate pathway post certification in job market. Thanks again for ur great work 🎉🎉😊

Dr. Gupta-what is your opinion of board-certified chiropractic radiologists. Are they real radiologists? 🥼🩻🩺
Hello Dr. Gupta, thank you for the video! I was wondering how difficult it was to find a breast imaging WFH position? Thank you in advance!
Wow!
Can you share with us how to read breast imagings through different modalities please
I can show the different modalities (mammogram, US, MRI) but learning how to read them takes years and practice!
This is lifestyle im hoping for
Hi dr gupta! Hope you are doing well. I am in a dilemma between internal medicine/fellowship and radiology. I love the idea of radiology, being the doctor's doctor seeing a wide variety of cases, short quick procedures but i have a few reservations 1) i hated my dedicated step period and studying alone in the initial years of med school. I worry if radiology where you work alone a lot would leave me depressed 2) even if we subspecialize the case mix for radiology seems so broad. How hard is it to keep up with so many advancements in so many specialities 3) my least productive hours are me working alone ; group studies and classes are where i do great. Radiology seems to be great speciality. Based on my above fears do you think its a good fit for me?
❤❤❤
Thank you so much for your videos! This was just what I needed to hear!! ❤️
You are living my dream life and helping me to be motivated to apply to med school thank you ❤
❤️❤️❤️ it’s worth it!!
BEST
I want to know ! How much radiology get paid 😢! I trying to go to med school
I have a whole video about this, but starting attending salary is in the ballpark of $350-400K in most places. th-cam.com/video/PCF6cdQXJ4Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KaJhkUPC7OWvuEkY
I’m interested in this thank you for sharing!)
Yay! Thank you for watching! I loved making this video.
Hello, thanks for the video! Curious whether you’re able to read tomo from your home set up?! And where do you find monitors with the resolution to be able to read mammography?!
Yes I read tomo from home! So far my workplace has provided my workstations. But many people buy them on monitors.com
I said this somewhere else, but it honestly shocks me how many students and residents admit they thought medicine would be like they see it portrayed on grey’s anatomy. I feel lucky that I had the opportunity to see medicine in practice first-hand, as an outsider, when I worked alongside physicians as a medical SLP. And I think, like you touched on, people are disappointed when they graduate and begin residency that it truly is a job and they may not feel the passion or calling they thought they would feel. It’s like the illusions are lost and they’re faced with it potentially feeling like any other job - but with way more hours in a week lol. I really feel for those individuals.
wheres the work
I don’t think anyone wanted to see me staring at my monitor for 8 hours so I cut out most of that 😇
I am here for the vlogs! Keep them coming!
Thanks Judy!! Hope to see you in a couple weeks!!
I love the vibe of this video! The more i watch your videos, the more i feel like i want to choose radiology as my future career! And YES, i am very curious about how you plan your life! 💞
Yayyyy!! Radiology really is the best😊😊😊 I will definitely share my planning routine too:)
Hi! Thank you for sharing your day in the life. I’m a soon to be breast imaging fellow (pgy-5 and almost done). I’m curious as to what made you decide to chose to wfh (or chose your particular job)? I’m trying to feel out what kind of job I’d like and would love to hear your opinion as a new-ish attending.
I mainly chose a WFH job because 1) the jobs closest to me wanted me to take call and I did not want that, and 2) after dealing with my son being home from daycare due to illness so many times it just because too stressful trying to find backup care. So I chose a job where I work primarily from home. I did choose jobs that still have a site within reasonable driving distance so I could maintain procedure skills and have a team atmosphere unlike working for a 100% tele company and I think this was the right move as a new attending wanting a more flexible lifestyle.
@ that all makes sense. Thank you for answering!
Love your videos!! I was so happy when I found someone making this kind of content, because I'm super interested in this career path. However, are there positions for PA's to work in diagnostic radiology?
There are *some* PA / NP / NPP jobs in radiology, diagnostics can be harder. Some I worked with in the past did some days on site helping with fluoroscopy and some days at home helping with protocoling studies. Every job is different. There are many more procedural jobs though!
@YashaGuptaMD thank you so much for replying!! I will definitely keep that in mind for the future 💞
such a great video, def feel the AM vibe. both excited to have this for myself, and terrified at the prospect at being on my own following residency!
You will be okay :) it is scary but a part of growth!!
Loved the calm vibes, hope you guys all feel better! 💕
Thank you!!
Mam do you earn 500k dollars a year as a radiologist in usa? Please reply in yes or no. Thanks a lot.
Hello! There is SO much data on radiologist salary. I also have a whole video on it. I do not share my exact salary on my channel. You can definitely earn 500K as a radiologist in the US. th-cam.com/video/PCF6cdQXJ4Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KaJhkUPC7OWvuEkY
it will take your job in 5 years I'm a medical doctor too
It's the same with me as an author, but i DONT want it to
Ha. Me neither, but we are drowning in volume and we need the help.
@YashaGuptaMD lol, I get you
radiology is a dying career AI is taking over soon

I wanted to study medicine, but pharmacy seems like a better choice. A quieter alternative. The doctor has to be popular, build a high credit, it's stressful. The pharmacist has direct access to the pills. A doctor without pills is no doctor :D
me (resident in surgical specialty) and my wife (med student) love to watch your videos , it really gives us hope that one day we can do what ever we want and enjoy our lives. thank you for sharing this content❤
Love this outlook!! Currently pre-med and watching all the medfluencers leave. I definetely understand and respect their decision and wish them all the best but I believe that the grass is as green as you make it. No matter what career path you chose, work is work.
Positive vibes. Thank you for being honest. Stay blessed.
Thanks for watching!
PGY-1s need to watch this video. I agree with everything you say. I am happy I didn't give up as a PGY-1 IMG. PGY-3 IM resident here. Locked in and look forward to being done.
You got this 💪
Not seeing people and wanting to be in the dark do not sound like dealbreakers
They absolutely are not!!
Nice video! Great to know attending life is much better! Would you make a video on your attending job choice -- different PP/academic options and why you chose your current job?
Thank you Dr. Gupta for being an inspiring and motivating figure out here! Your videos really helped me choose radiology and I remain positive that every day of training makes tomorrow even better. Thank you :)
Agree 100% Attending life is so much better than being a resident. The winter of Intern year I believe studies have shown has been most dangerous for burnout/depression due to the holidays occuring and you have such little time off and they are cold days with little sunlight. Not to mention Interns just not knowing what they are doing for most of the first year. It gets better! Our poor residents get I think 2 weeks of PTO, and that includes any time taken off if they get sick. I have 5 weeks PTO now and will up it to 6 weeks next year. I think your advice to consider your specialty carefully is important. Some specialties like Interventional Cardiology, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, or Trauma are just very hard to have your nights/weekends/holidays off and to work closer to a 40-hour week no matter how hard you try to find an accommodating health system. I work in Primary care and while the hours directly seeing patients are not so bad (8-5 Mon-Friday) there can be an additional 10-20 hours per week of in-basket work. (my colleague called the in basket work after seeing patients as "starting our second part time job"). I'd advise medical students to consider their specialty careful in terms of their passion as well as the anticipated lifestyle. Also do your best after graduating to avoid lifestyle creep. Once you buy your expensive dream car or get a mortgage for your dream house it can be difficult to give those things up if you desire to cut your hours.
Thank you for sharing your insight!! Totally agree!
Thanks for this positivity filled video!
☺️☺️☺️
Thanks a lot for your input and for including the reality of diversity in the field. Appreciate your point of view.
Thank you for watching!
Great Video! If possible, can you make a video about how you felt during residency (i.e if there was any imposter syndrome, how to navigate feelings of like you are the only one struggling, etc)
Great idea!
😂😂😂 That’s great ❤❤❤
Dr Goobie and Doobie did this and he's happy
Hello thanks for your videos ❤. I have a question from you . I want to apply to internal medicine residency. I am an img . I can travel to us . And apply for match with electives with 4 years gap. Or is it better to take a year of research and then apply for match with 5 years of gap ?
