Peking University Campus Tour
During my last couple of days on campus at Peking University I took a bike to do a campus tour. Before coming to PKU, I wished there was more content online showing the campus in detail, so that's why I made this video.
Hope it helps you!

A Day in My Life at Peking University (as an Exchange Student)
มุมมอง 12K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
During this year‘s spring term I left Munich for Beijing to pursue my exchange semester at Peking University (PKU). Studying in China as a foreigner that has never been to the country before was super exciting. I absolutely loved my time there and wanted to share one (relatively typical) day there with you - So follow me along at China's most prestigious university. Enjoy! Timestamps: 0:00 - In...

    Hey! Thank you for this amazing video ! You're right, there isn't a lot of stuff about PKU and the campus online. I'm going too as an exchange student next fall term, but I have a lot of questions and it is difficult to find the information 😭 I was wondering, how did you pay your meals and the dorm? Did you have some kind of bank account? Also, I was looking for prices in Global Village and couldn't find any, can I ask you how much did cost your room? Thank you !!!

    • @nikolaimadlener

      You can open a bank account on campus (ICBC) on arrival. Will be super important as you want to use Alipay/Wechat Pay. The rooms at global village are around 3300 rmb/month (depending on exact room type tho)

    Hey man, great video! It really helped me get a better feel for what studying in China, specifically Beijing, would be like! I am interested in applying to PKU and was wondering if you could help me with one question I had. You mentioned in the video that one of your classes was studying Chinese business culture, which led me to believe that it was along the realm of business/international business. Could you tell me what your major is? I would like to pursue a bachelor's in international business/relations in an English course (I have taken Mandarin for years, but I am not fluent enough to take a class in it haha), but have had no luck in finding a course such as that available at PKU. Any information you have would be extremely great. Again, great video!

    • @nikolaimadlener
      @nikolaimadlener 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The course was called "Chinese Society and Business Culture". It could be that it is not offered each semester (I took it during the summer term). It is offered by the Guanghua School of Management. My major is CS (so not related at all), but since I was a general visiting student I could take courses from any faculty. Hope that helps.

    How to be an exchange student in china, the requirement?

      At my university (TUM), I could apply via our exchange program. If you are already enrolled at university you could check out if you have a similar program and if there are any chinese partner universities you can apply for. Once admitted, one of the most important requirements is to obtain a student Visa.

      I didn't speak any chinese before my exchange and I had an amazing time there. Of course, it will make life way easier if you speak mandarin when going to China, but you can also just pick it up while being there by taking a language course for example. In my opinion, they best way to learn a language is learning it IN the actual country :)
