I have 3800 hours in the game. And as much as I prefer to have a diverse army for RP reasons, unfortunately Heavy Infantry stacking is just simply the best. There are very few instances where this is not the case, like if you're near the Muslims with Mubarizun. But pretty much anywhere else, Heavy Infantry are king. Their only map-wide true counter is Skirmishers, but they're so weak that the Skirmishers have to triple your numbers to even have a chance and most AI aren't massing Skirmishers, even early game. I rarely find Horse Archers to be a problem, the AI don't build enough of them to truly counter a big stack of of Heavies. I tend to prefer RP though, I've played long enough that the game has become insanely easy so I have to challenge myself with mods, RP & personal challenges. I tend to limit my MAA to whatever terrain and/or defensive building buffs them per county.

That time I sat on all of Scandinavia, Balticum and Britain and I just slaughtered the crusader forces coming for Wessex-four times😂

Only having to beat the Pope, is not so simple. His armies are pretty tough, and he always doubles it with holy orders and mercenaries. Plus seiging down his provinces are a massive pain

If you decide to do this, you’ll see better results the more things you leave as criminal (witchcraft, adultery, etc) as sinners seek indulgences more often. Still, though it was borderline broken in older patches, while still good, there are many other competitive choices for religions.

The few timws i tried to raid my troops didnt want to. I was norse,raised them as raiders, have auto raid on and attacked places with loot and yet they did nothing. Is this a bug or am i still missing smthing(i am on console)

Yeah, I don't know about powerful. Even without a lot of effort, money isn't really ever an issue unless you want it to be in this game. This is fun if you want to do this exact thing, but it doesn't add to any playstyle.

This is alittle anticlimatic. When you play as Byzantium and declare war on the papal state you expect catholic rulers would defend the pope and the faith as was done in the real world.

Another cultural Tradition called Konni raids (weich can be found in the Serbien area ish) allows you to raid.

I mean, for a single player experience armored footmen are okay-ish. But it depends on where you are. If fighting against arabics for instance, like in Iberia, the Mubarizun will decimate you. Then again, the AI is not very good at stacking bonuses so you can make even light footmen work against it.
