Man! You got one of the nicest Land Cruisers ever made. Triple locked, solid axle, yet still comfy and with that 1fze motor…one of the most beastly inline sixes Toyota ever produced. The only thing I would do is take off those side steps

We're close enough to go wheeling with out FZJ80's. I'm originally from the Bay but live in Redding now. How much did you pay for yours? That thing was extremely clean. Couldn't have been cheap.

I was originally was goin to buy a LX 470 and then bought a FZJ80. My thought process with the Lexus was more luxury, more power, better condition, for a lower price then a 93-97 triple locked. But in the end the FZJ80 triple locked was what I bought.

I bought one with 320k miles with a bad cylinder. The previous owner took it to a shop to have it fixed which they did but it failed again after a month or so. Does it make sense to swap the engine? Or do a rebuild?

I usually like stock wheels. But those wheels look perfect on that 80 series!

The MetalTech's are by far my favorite. I had them on my old 40th Anniversary 80 and they were fantastic! I also had their "large stinger" front bumper and loved the heck out of that thing!!

What about removing the ribs in between? Rust accumulates there too. Ask me how I know. Nice cruiser.

Without a heavily modified front end, the 80 series tends to follow the position of the front axle. I've been in a couple of situations when I was younger where I almost rolled the truck. Not realizing that the front end just wouldn't flex as much even with a 6-in lift. Love seeing the videos as always!!!

Oh man, sorry to see the mishap. But your good attitude about it and the lessons you learn are the best part. It can always be worse. It's a good excuse to install a winch 😜
