Thank you so much fir sharing this you giving better hope to help my lil boy 🤍 on you
Thank you for the video. '...one more day...' I have to make that decision tomorrow. and know that to postpone will only force him to suffer longer. My male dog is 13 and we have been partners in life since he was a pup; dogs are partners and not property to me. His bad days outnumber his good. He has dementia and other problems giving him pain in moving and so on. I will be holding him at the end. I have opted for cremation and return of his ashes. The vet staff were great yesterday to explain everything and will allow me to pre-pay so I can leave when done. On his bad days the other dog and cat treat him differently as if they sense or know. I did not know dogs can get dementia until I observed him a few months ago and thought that he acts like a hooman with dementia and a search confirms it; he has all the symptoms. Even at my age of 76 I believe in the Rainbow Bridge: Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge....
So sorry you are going through this. It's so sad to lose them. I hope all the great memories will help you at this difficult time.
Thank you! I have a 12 year old dog with aural hematoma. A rescue and foster program had him undergo two separate surgeries, including 28 teeth being removed. As I just adopted this sweet old dog, I do not want him to undergo anymore surgeries this year. It’s too risky, and May spiral him back into depression if he survives the anesthesia. So, I will ask the vet to help me monitor Callum with less invasive treatments. 🙏💕🐶
You make me not want a beagle lol
Depending on the surgery, and if the surgical site isn't bandaged and the surgeon says it's ok, I would use something called a surgery recovery suit, but if the stitches are exposed, I probably wouldn't put it on your pet.
Why are some soft and some hard are needle like. I pull the hard whiskers. They seem painful to my dog. The soft ones are cool.
My Belgian Malinois has a big one on his head
My dog kept standing when i move the treat to the back of the head, what do i do
You can keep trying calmly while sitting on the couch with her next to you. Or you can wait for her to sit naturally and praise reward when that happens, this method is known as "capturing."
I recently roasted a lamb roast that sent my friend's dog into a barking frenzy as soon as the smell of the roast hit the air! He was SO stressed by it that I had to crate him to calm him. I opened the windows and ran the oven fan without not much relieve. Regardless what I tried to calm him sadly, it just wasn't affective. Eventually, the roast was done and he LOVED the lamb meat!!!! Still, he returns to the oven and barks at times as he still smells the lamb. I think, because he is a breed of dog that was bred for hunting, his senses are hightend with gamey meat. That's my thought.
❤❤❤❤❤
My pretty girl, Sweet Pea, once caught the scent of a rabbit while we were on vacation and had me running after her barefoot through a forest in the dark. Got her back though ❤
Glad you were able to bring her back to safety. Sounds like she may enjoy barn hunts!
this video was the most wholesome thing ive ever watched, ive got a touch of the tism myself and this made me so happy! love youre obvious enthusiasm for dogs!!! XD dont listen to everyone bitching about you over explaining. i love it. its so wholesome. XD
No greater pain
So true, my neighbor once gave me the perfect description for how it feels to lose a dog. She told me it feels like somebody grabs your heart, tosses it to the ground and then shatters it into a million pieces. So sorry for your loss.
The most widely reason they are left untreated is because of the 1000's of dollars it cost for a simple procedure , example I went to a doctor for a sist on my knee.. he drained it right in the office , cost me $297.00 with crappy insurance... Took my dog to the vet for a simple ear Hematoma.. they took her in for surgery.. screwed up her ear for life..and charged me over $1200 dollars that was just for the surgery.. then had to get some kind of BS ointment that was this tiny tube for 80 friggn dollars and use it at home and also some antibiotics ..another 50 dollars SO bottom line cost me $1200 + $80 + $50 then they sent me home with a dog with a permanently screwed up deformed ear and the rest of the treatment I had to do myself... WHAT A FRIGGN SCAM VETS ARE... and if they F up.. they blame in on the dog.. I will NEVER make this mistake again...
Going threw this rite now 😔😔
Anybody with a dog that goes threw this please research medicinal leeches and try to get some within the 1st week of an aural hematoma don't go with surgery as it leaves ugly scars and might risk ur pet passing away from complications due to old age my pit had 1 on each ear within 2 years and the surgery was hard on him plus left his ear mangled his 2nd ear came out way better and within a week and $100 it was like brand new
Oh and get a no flap ear wrap asap to prevent it from getting bigger
Perfect example of “say less”
Hi! I know this video is old but I wanted to thank you for helping me talk to my vets to change the meds my baby is prescribed. Today is the first day in weeks she has looked up and growled at her brother. All after talking to her vets about the meds you gave to your pup. We have been seeing Specialists, chiropractor, and acupuncture and the switch from galliprant to meloxicam is what is working right now. Thank you for posting a great, informative video!
Thank you so much for reaching out! I am glad this has helped your baby, warm wishes for a speedy recovery!
Tqvm for the information. Much appreciation
Thank you! I was so worried he was allergic or getting sick 😣
Very informative and calm description exploring both options for dental procedures. The best video I found so far about this. Thank you!
We are glad you found this video on dog dental cleaning helpful!
In not sure your nationality and therby the accent you carry over into English speaking; however, i do admire your appeal to humor and personification of the "beagle experience." I feel you and i could likely be friends with the place your imagination and humor is being drawn from. I think youre cute in that regard. May i come over and cuddle on your beagle? Lol. Stay beautiful, dearest -Darby
"Gaping throat" Ill be honest most dogs make ZERO noise from the domestic enviornments ive seen. I am 28 and ive patiently waited out having a dog. I live on a legitimate farm and while theres already a bunch of animals i dont personally have one. It affects my quality of life and community because my mates are a couple and im a third wheel to everything taking place. I know that having a dog and defining our relationship on my shoulders instead of fitting a "square peg in round hole" trying tirelessly for attention. consistenty, and affection <providing affection and receiving it/allowing oneself to feel it> Im 28, male, single. My heart is more readily open to provide maintenance of care and high quality of care to a canine vs a female. Not comparing value and slandering the greater woman i know exists. Ive just seen the darkside of that coin too many times and placed WAY too much confidences in actually being treated decently. You said it best, "There are no stupid beagles" just like for example "there are no stupid people" and yes as far as learning patience and TRULY caring for a dissimilar entity i feel like id be personally touched and rather content to "go beagling." Id feel implored and honored to be his/her lil buddy. Im sure he/she would save my heart from breaking completely. Cheers. Darby laurel oregon
You describe, in a hitarious way, my beagle,Mia, to a tee!!! Love your video.! Laughed all the way through!
Is ok for my dog to sleep on top of his stitches it doesn't bother him but i just wanted to know if it is ok for him to do so
Thanks for the info i was just exasperated over my dog since she always trys to get in my mouth when ive just eaten. Now i know dogs will share thier tastes and show thier smells off too. Heckin pup these are my mouth tastes.
Doesn’t work for all dogs. Have a dog that was completely fine for the first 4 years. No issues with rain, thunder, fireworks, etc. then one day out of nowhere, won’t go outside when even the slightest sprinkle, and now anything that resembles fireworks or thunder send her into a peeing frenzy who tries to escape wherever she is. Absolutely nothing happened to cause this, and now nothing, not even trainers, can break her of this. She’s just a bad dog that has been the bane of my existence for the past 4 years. I’m unfortunately going to have to get rid of her because she’s untrainable when it comes to this. She’s a well trained dog, but it rains and thunders most of the year here, so her actions are a constant nightmare.
My other female dog that she was raised side by side with and has spent every second with, has no issues with rain, lightning, etc..
Sounds like your dog has a thunder storm phobia, which is a whole separate issue that needs a different treatment. Have you tried consulting with a board-certified veterinary behaviorist? Your dog may need some calming meds along with behavior modification (desensitization and counterconditioning) to tackle the deep anxiety.
Damn, calling your own dog the bane of your existence is low… she isn’t doing it on purpose and if you feel that way she definitely wil feel that too. Yikes dude
@@Slothisticated0252 well you haven’t shared my own experiences, so you don’t really get an opinion on my subject
hi
We said goodbye to our 10 year old girl today. It sucked.
I just spent $550.00 on my bluenose Jake. After 2 weeks, they took out the stitches and it came right back. 1.5 days. Vet said they would do it again for $550.00...😢
I was going ape shit I’m not leaving the cone off him unless he wants water or food
It's hard when you lose it your video answered a lot
Dogs enjoy licking peoples feet, so if they get the urge, they are close by, and don't have to get up.
Good point, for some reason all the dogs we have owned were always crazy for my husband's feet. Some would even fight over who got to lick them first!
I am getting a Pom when she’s in kindergarten 2 more years!
I love my stubborn beagle! ❤
Thank you
You're very welcome. Made this video when we were doing hospice care for our elderly dog and thought to share what we noticed and what helped us in hopes of helping others.
I'm in tears right now because my Astro is going through a lot of these symptoms right now.
So sorry you are going through this. We lost our two dogs and it's rough. Hugs to you at this difficult time.
@@DogDiscoveries thank you. I'm trying to figure out what day I'm gonna let him go be with God. Never thought it would hurt this bad.
two MAJOR omissions here: 1. beagles are most common breed for product testing and horrible grant funded experiments because of their trusting nature. breeding beagles for animal experiments is an industry here in the USA and UK. these angels suffer under government and private company research, starting with the horribly painful shredding of their vocal chords to prevent them from crying during the Mengele-style experiments and product testing. aamof the tobacco industry forced beagles to inhale cigarette smoke to research the effects of emphysema and lung cancer. 2. beagles are one of the top 3 breeds surrendered to animal shelters. many of these babies are gifted to children who badly want them as pets, but later give up on them after they are no longer of interest. find out more with the WhiteCoatWasteProject, BeagleFreedomProject and other organizations for a reality check.
Very informative ! I have a puppy 9 weeks old. Today is the first rainy day and she refused to go potty outside. Thank you! ❤
Good luck in going potty in the rain!
I live in AZ… it rarely rains so my 6 month old puppy won’t even go outside to potty after it rains! The rocks must smell different. We don’t have grass 😢
I created this video because my dogs were also raised in Arizona and were refusing to go to potty in the rain so thought to share some tips!
My Birdie is gone now ( a tear), but she was the sweetest creature, and was every inch a lady. She was the Queen of the Dog Park, and the neighborhood. She had a gorgeous plummed tail, as they should be! No need for the amputated tail. They don’t do this with English and Irish setters.Gorden setters.
This video is very accurate I lost my baby boy Saturday from pancreatitis and liver issues had to do one of the hardest things I don’t wish anyone has to go through it hurts
So sorry for your loss.

Hi there, it is hard to say, all dogs go through a different journey. Have you checked with your vet for an assessment? My heart goes out to you.
A) this condition is INCREDIBLY painful for the dog. I just treated my 4 mo old great dane puppy with arnica gel x2 daily, bactine/witch hazel x2 daily (for anesthetic) and 1 ml alcohol free licorice root tincture x2 daily (for natural steroid properties). Hematoma gone in 2 days, her ear is perfect. DO NOT TRY TO DRAIN IT YOURSELF.
Did you put the arnica gel, bactine/witch hazel and licorice root on your dogs ear one right after the other… or did you have a waiting period between each item?
@@Bluegrl77 I put them on one after the other, once each had dried. The licorice root went into some cooked sweet potatoes. Hope it works for your pup!!
@@carolsaylor6151 awww thank you so much, really appreciate your quick response. ❤️
@@Bluegrl77 pls lmk if you have any Qs and let us now how everything turns out!! 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for this comment. Just noticed a hematoma on my great dane's ear. Will try this
Im a petsitter and one of the dogs im currently caring for has what seems to be a pinches nerve in her back between her shoulderblades. She is currently on pain meds and a muscle relaxer as well as a topical pain relief gel. What else can i do to help her be more comfortable overall? She is a beagle around 6 or 7yrs old and i help her get up and lay down when needed but i don't know what else i can do to comfort her. She is extremely sensitive to touch on her shoulders so im afraid to put an ice pack or rice sack on that area
I just lost both my dogs, both were 15 yrs. old and raised together as pups. They died 10 days apart and I could tell the last one had a broken heart and so missed her buddy. Watching her in anguish was heartbreaking and I'm going to have to deal with that for a long time, but I just hope '' time heals all wounds ''.
Thank you for this it has been really helpful. X
You're very welcome. Glad it turned out helpful.
My 5yo found this video helpful after asking me if dogs have taste buds 😊 thank you
