😊amazing service, love the drums!

Pastor Mark, This is a very deep devotional on Psalm 23. When I was going through panic disorder as you remember from 1991 when Ron and I returned from our tour in Misawa, Japan, I was very, very sick. In fact, my psychiatrist (a born-again Christian) Dr. Victor deMoya told me about 6 months into my therapy. He told me, Donna I have never seen in my practice anyone who has been as sick with panic and depression as you have been. That really floored me, but encouraged me at the same time. God has done a great work in me first by immersing myself in my all-time favorite Psalm, Psalm 23. As I couldn't attend church for 8 months, living in my bedroom, praying, reading The Word and crying out to God, I began my reading in The Book of Psalms. It has always been my favorite Book in The Bible. As I read, I came to Psalm 23. I read that Psalm over and over and over again until it was memorized even with my unhealthy mind, I knew God was watching me reading and praying that Psalm. He knew exactly what I was going through and His Plan for my life was unfolding. In fact, I knew He always had a Plan for me before I was even born. I was to be a baby girl, I would have black hair and a lot of it, and blue eyes. I am still a girl, actually a 68 year old woman, still have blue eyes, but my hair is a combination of my Dad's sandy brown hair and my precious Mother who is in Heaven as of 2013 with her slightly auburn hair with very little gray. I am now a healthy woman of 68 years, when people I haven't seen in a long time say I look 45 years old, a healthy heart (as my cardiologist put it a "perfect heart of an 18 year old"), weighing in at 128 pounds, 5'4" tall (about the size I was when I graduated college at Troy State), wearing a size 4-6 and sometimes a 6-8 in pants. I feel like a teenager again. I know Pastor Mark, you wouldn't approve of my diet because you once said you would never eat "rabbit food". Well, I am a vegan now as of last July 5th, 2023 and eat all the time including 3 full meals every day, several snacks including one at night, and sleep like a baby when at one time I was not sleeping at all with the panic attacks. I felt I was having heart attacks all night long. I would walk the floor all night and day for 2 weeks without sleeping at all, like a zombie in the day and night. Now, I still see Dr. deMoya. It has been 33 years since I was diagnosed. He has seen me go from a very sick, unhealthy 40 year old woman to a vibrant, joyful and grateful 68 year old woman. I was out of church during the pandemic as we shut down and started streaming on-line with Pastor Michael and Pastor Tammy Lugones. I really love our pastors, all of them, especially Pastors Michael and Tammy. I have learned even more starting with you and Sister Christy about The Word. When you were giving the sermon on Sunday mornings, I would always take notes, and I still take many notes when Pastor Michael or any of the guest speakers are there such as Pastor Janelle Burgos (now married to Moses Burgos with a baby girl, Aliana Grace), Pastor Clint Nelson and his wife Kayla, who are our NextGen pastors, with the middle-schoolers, high schoolers and college men and women, Pastors Chelsea and Evan Vanderford (now married and have 2 boys), Former Worship Pastor and now Executive Assistant to Pastors Michael and Tammy, Pastors Claressa and Jordan Sikes with their two muchkins as I call the, Zander and Liam. Pastor Claressa is Pastor Tommy and Rese Moore's daughter and she preaches just like her Dad, Worship Leader now, Jake and his wife Angel, who just got married. He has that annointing on him to sing those wonderful worship songs, which I am totally immersed in when I enter the Sanctuary. I totally block our everything and everyone and feel the Holy Spirit's Presence every time I am in that room. Pastor Clint saw me one morning taking notes with my notebook and he looked and saw how fast I could write everything Pastor Michael or any of the speakers would say and he asked me one time if he could have my notebook when I was finished. I said, "Sure, you can". He said, "You promise?", and I replied, "I promise and I never break a promise". He always reminds me every time I see him about my promise. I laugh and say I know, it won't be long, because I have almost filled it up. Starting on another notebook soon. I feel like I really can't get too involved with things at the church because of Ron. He has been through so many surgeries, the last being a shattered hip which he fell in the computer room thinking he was lying on the bed. He just got disoriented, but ended up in the ER with a stupid doctor from Orthopedic Associates, Dr. Jack McKay. He looked at Ron's x-rays and said, yep, your hip is shattered. You need surgery, but I can't get to you until this afternoon. Well, we waited in Ron's hospital room, and waited but Dr. McKay never showed up until the next morning. Finally he came in and asked Ron if he was ready. I wanted to knock his block off!! He took Ron in a room where they prep you for surgery and I was with him. The nurses got him ready and wheeled him into surgery. As I was waiting in that room, reading The Bible, I saw that stupid Dr. McKay pacing back and forth several times on his cell phone laughing and talking to his friends and wife. And all the time, I was thinking, shouldn't he be in surgery. Well, Ron finally came out and was so sick from the anesthesia he couldn't even drink gingerale. I went over and told him just to sip a cup of water, which he did and gave him a saltine cracker to nibble on and he felt better. The stupid nurse couldn't even do that. Anyway, while Ron was recovering outside of the surgery room, I went back to the other room to get my things. In comes Dr. McKay and he said, "Mrs. Yount, I hate to admit this as a doctor, but I believe I made mistake while I was operating on your husband". I asked him, "What mistake?" He said, "I performed the wrong procedure and his foot is turned outside, he is going to need another surgery". I should have reported that idiot, but I remember what God says in His Word, "Vengence is mine, saith The Lord". So I went with Ron back to his room and never told him what Dr. McKay said. He knew he needed another surgery but didn't know why. I never told him until we left that Band-aid Station, they call a hospital. Anyway, I stay home with him now almost every day except when I have an appointment or if I need to buy groceries. I started to attend Lifepoint after Easter this year after Ron's blessing for me to go back. And I have never been the same again. Now, after last week, Ron had a second echocardiogram with Dr. Anthony Al-dehneh. When the doctor examined the results, he told me my results were excellent after a stress test, echo and EKG. In fact he said I had a perfect heart, the heart of an 18 year old. He asked me if I were a vegan. I said, "Yes I am as of July 5th 2023. He said so am I. I have tried to get all my heart patients to go vegan and they completely shut me down and said what you said about rabbit food, including Darron Dubose and Jimmy Dubose, both who have had multiple open-heart surgeries and Darron is an insulin-dependent diabetic. I guess I am not a rocket scientist, but if I were in their shoes I would listen much closer to my cardiologist. Now, Ron---his echo showed the aneurysm he had in 2019 has enlarged and gotten bigger. Dr. Al-dehneh works very closely with Dr. Eric Sandwith the best heart and vascular surgeon in NW Florida, at Fort Walton Beach. In fact he did Ron's surgery in 2019. He had a partial rupture of his aoertic aneurysm. Dr. Sandwith called me back to CCIC unit where he performs his heart surgeries and held my hands and told me, "Mrs. Yount, Ron has a partial rupture of his aoertic artery, causing an aneurysm, and I will do everything in my power to save his life." Well, I was stunned like a deer in headlights, but came to my senses and starting weeping. The head nurse came to me and told me, "Mrs. Yount, Dr. Sandwith is the best. He is a Christian surgeon and his team prays before each surgery. Don't worry, Ron is in God's Hands." That gave me some relief, but until Pastor Michael called me on my cell phone and prayed with me, I was a nervous wreck. That was then and this is now. I am much stronger in The Lord, I know His Promises, and I know I can totally trust Him, and Him alone. So with that, thank you so much Pastor Mark and Sister Christy for getting me back on the road to where I'm at now. You both have always been a big blessing to Ron and me. We love you dearly, and may God continue to Bless you ministry at CLC in Pennsylvania. If I don't see you on earth again, I will see you in Heaven. In Christ, Donna Yount (your former sheep)
