In my opinion , people should buy an expense ( yes expense ) like this ONLY if they have atleast double the value of the vehicle in appreciating assets/investments. But at the end of the day, there's a VW salesman somewhere hoping a young guy with bad financial skills seeking external validation walks through that dealership door.

Wow that is insane especially for what is supposed to be a economy car slightly warmer over. This is why I stick to used Japanese cars that have already taken a big depreciation hit. For that same annual amount you could have an older tuned mk1 for fun drives and then something like a used Honda Jazz for everything else. Thanks for the breakdown it absolutely proves what a waste of money cars can be.

2024 AW GTI owner here. Do you also have rattles in the rear doorcards if music is played loud? Considering sound deadning and some Audison/Hertz/Focal replacement speakers front and rear. Beats option not spec-ed. Thank goodness

An insurance rate of more than 20% on this vehicle is mostly likely due to the business's prior claim history, but you most def do not have the full info here to justify a R10k premium per month. That said, although insurance on a Land-Cruiser, and most commercial Toyota's are expensive, one should not forget that these vehicles are the ones that are stolen most often. One should also not forget that parts on these vehicles don't come cheap, as you have heard ito service and tyre costs. Most insurers will require Tracking devices, and some might require 2 in area's most prone to vehicle theft. I also dont believe that you would be able to correctly insure this vehicle for only a R1000 per month, it just does not sound right, especially because no one owns these vehicles in their stock standard format and the costs of extra's are always to be taken into account, etc. None the less, was great to be reminded that even though most guys want one, every terrorist also wants one...

Who ever is servicing your LC is ripping you off. Normal filters and oil at dealers- R 3.5k If he service include the axle service then it’s R8.5k.

Outside of the insurance cost, all the other costs are reasonable. Then again I drive a 1998 105 Land Cruiser, my range is about 60% of yours on a 141L combined tank capacity
