I think one of the funniest things a lot of people don't know about is how Starstable had a competition in Sweden where they gave away a free iPhone with a cute starstable case. I was actually the one who won this competition and i gave away the phone to a friend, but i kept the case. I think it's somewhere around my apartment, but I'm not sure where haha

What we did to play without a rider was to get off the horse, then turn off the WiFi while the game was still on, quickly get on the horse then turn the WiFi back on. Boom. Wild horse 🤣

Interestingly enough I did not know about the first character update. I played during that time, but was only 8, so it went straight over my head😅

13:28 SSO dressage is actually a real thing, Its called Quadrille dressage where many people are doing the exact moves as in sso. + In Starshine legacy while playing Anne, this type of dressage was there, where you had to do a curl, fate, curl over ext. Ive seen many people say that it was sso players that invented this form of dressage even though it was in the originals, and its an actual dressage form💕❤

One staple thing I remember back in the day was being forced to run, and being unable to walk. Now you can shift between walking and running by clicking shift, but back then you'd have to hold your camera sideways in order for your character to walk ^w^. This, and having to pay in order to be able to lead your horse around :D

41:35 is actually true I remember when I would sneak onto my parents computer at night as a kid to play I heard that and it really freaked me out and I didn't realize it was coming from the game at first because it never played during the day. But the sound is identical to what I heard and I definitely investigated to find it was coming from the castle, you actually didn't have to be that close to the castle to hear it from what I remember but this was years and years ago

speaking of sso music, i know that this dramatic one that is (or was?) in some quests and old games is also used in an old polish tv show „gdzie jest kłamczuch”. i was so shocked when i watched an episode and it was there hah

At the 25 minute mark when you're talking about time, I just got back into the game and was doing a quest. There's someone who's come to the island and they say they're here for the summer camp and one of your responses is something like "Was that what I came for too?" Or "I remember something like that!" It was pretty funny to include actually lol I've been playing since 2012 so it's wild to watch your video and be constantly going "Awh! I remember that!!" Or "Ugh, I remember that.." 😂 Fantastic video so far!

THERE IS ANOTHER WAY TO DECREASE PLAYER HEALTH!! in one of the fishing quests you have to catch a really dangerous fish and if you messed up it actually used to take your player health away... enough times and you would get sent back to your home stable with a special message LOL

I remember when they accidentally released the "remove hat" and "remove gloves" feature. I discovered it by pure accident myself and no one seemed to know about it. I'm not sure if it appeared for others, but I know for a while that I ran around without a helmet/hat. Even after they patched out the feature (which they later officially released.)

Someone has probably said this but Mr Sands is immortal thanks to Garnok, they're cooperating and Garnok is some kind of death god who can give immortality and bring people back from the dead :) Thats why Mr Sands is working for him, because he wants his dead wife back

I used to play starstable a LOT as a child (2014-2018) and i just wanna say I adore this video, the amount of nostalgia oh my gooood. You reminded me of soo much stuff that was deeply hidden within my memory😭😭🫶 also coming back to find out Ydris turned into a tumblr sexy man is WILD lol i always used to think hes just a random mysterious dude pre makeover. Also i can confirm the Linda crying noises from the castle was real!!! At first i didnt know what you were talking about but when you played the clip i vividly remembered how i was standing around in front if the castle trying to figure out how to free her because her crying made me so sad. Good times

Yeah about the player health thing I’ve had my account since 2017 but only just now got sr 😭 I to didn’t listen to the onscreen instructions and it immediately sent me back to my home stable

I realized this strange thing happens at night. I'm a newer player and I play at night and for some reason, like around 2 am, some text pops up on my screen saying something about how midnight has fallen and the night is closing in. I haven't found anything about this yet so what is this??

Here are two creepy stories about bugs from 2013 (or 2014) sso. Once there was free star rider given to everyone and I logged in as usual but ended up with a different character and a different horse. I don't remember checking if it was my nickname or not (I was 9 yo lmao) but it seems that somehow I logged on a different account. Of course I logged off immediately and logged in my account once more and it was ok. And here's a bug that scared me. Once I logged in, my character was fishing on valedale lake. No UI, nothing. Just my girl fishing. That scared me af as a kid... I'm glad that has never happened to me since that time

No one speaks about an akhal-teke that stood at the equestrian centre and cost 1200 or 1250. I do remember that clearly, even tho there have been no confirmations of that to this day (or I might not have yet seen it). The price changed to 990 very soon. Does anyone else remember that or does my child imagination betray me?

11:00 not book 1, but book 2, but otherwise it’s completely right! We learn more backstory on Mr Sands and his lost love Rosalinda when Linda visits Pine Hill manor and finds his diary! Rosalinda was tried as a witch through a trial by water, and developed some sort of illness from it (I don’t think it’s ever explicitly confirmed what it is, but my guess is pneumonia), and then she died from that. Mr Sands became incredibly angry at the world (and at the people who tried Rosalinda since he blames them for her illness and death), and Garnok approached him in that moment. Sands swore his loyalty to him, and has been his immortal general since then. I don’t remember if we get an exact year for when Rosalinda’s whole thing happened - I think we do, but I’d have to check - but by the existence of witch trials during that time, it would definitely be impossible for him to still be alive if he wasn’t immortal. Also I think the option to hide your hat is good for keeping the stats a hat provides without having to see it!

My two cents: There is a youtube channel named Glori who made a video series back in 2013-2015 about Star Stable. Unfortunately, she only speaks Czech, but aside from the language barrier you can find some authentic content in those videos. Old graphics, events that are no longer available, the overall vibe from that era, etc.

Aside from helmets and gloves we also wasn’t able to take off our horses tack, it later changed to be able to take off only the saddle and pad and even later we were allowed to take off even the bridles. I also remember wild horses wasn’t a thing and when we wanted to be one we got to the sso folder and deleted pants and reins files 😅 such a good times it was. I have a lot of memories like this and I am also proud owner of JA band shirt! ❤

About the creation of the Nixies: I'm pretty sure it was all done via Instagram. SSO would create a bunch of different accounts for this and I'm pretty sure it worked like this: First, SSO tagged an account with all of the available coat colours to choose from. Meaning that this account had a bunch of posts and all of them represented a base colour for the horse. Can't remember how many available colours there were - but one post represented one colour. Let's say you chose a blue horse. You would then click on that post - and in that post another account would be tagged. This account would bring you to a page with posts consisting of only blue horses but with different mane colours. And from there you would follow the same process - choose a mane colour (for example yellow) and move on to the tagged account from that specific post. Then you'd be met with an account with posts of blue horses with yellow manes and now you'd have to choose a special marking for the horse. I can't remember how many times this process was iterated but I'm pretty sure at the end you had to screenshot your finished horse and then post it and perhaps tag SSO? Sounds like a very tedious process for SSO and I do not envy the poor soul that had to set up all of these accounts but I'm pretty sure this is how it all went down.

The good old speed glitch. The first speed glitch was the one where you had to click on the bus at Fort Pinta while sitting on the bench, after that you had to open settings and quickly drag the graphics slider back and forth which gave you massive frame drops that were used to glitch through the wall behind the Janitor. You had to do this quite a few times to increase your stats. It is still unbelievable to me how someone figured this out
