    Hi, I am in the UK so Ebikes are restricted to 15mph but its the climbing I am interested in. So I am 63, 250lbs have had a new left knee a few years ago and a right ankle fusion so my right ankle flex is not that great but I can ride really well. I have an Orbea D30 with the rear hub motor 40NM and have done about 1000 miles on it and its a great bike but the motor kind of gives up on you up the 10%+ hills I encounter in my area. I usually do about 50 miles 3hrs or so so I am ok on distance but the hills are a challenge for me. I have just had a Specialized Creo SL with the sl 1.1 mid drive motor for the weekend and did not like the Carbon see through effect and the motor noise was awful but it was better up the climbs that the Orbea. Question I have is How does the TQ motor perform compared to the Creo SL motor specifically up climbs of more than 10%.? The Orbea is great up to 10% but anything steeper then you just end up running out of steam as the motor gives up on you and you have to struggle up with the extra weight which is why I got an Ebike in the first place. So please tell me why the chain keeps coming off when shifting (is it out of adjustment on the limit screws). I am also 5ft 10in and about the same weight with the same injuries so I thought about buying this exact model with maybe sram on. Sorry for the monologue but I want to know how the TQ motor is as I dont seem to be able to get a test ride at the moment.

    • @adriancoats5383
      @adriancoats5383 ปีที่แล้ว

      Love these questions…I’ll just comment on the TQ it is fairly strong with 50nm and I’ve done 12% grade for about 5 minutes and you have to work and it sucks up more battery but for me it handles it ok…If you would like another suggestion I would try the Yamaha wabash it has 85nm and is a beast

    AWESOME Bike! Does it take much effort to hit stay at its max speed of 28? If set to full boost, does it propel you along pretty decently or do you still have to pedal hard?

    • @adriancoats5383
      @adriancoats5383 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great questions ..First off this bike is a pedal assist so even at full boost you will have to put in a decent amount of work to stay at 28 because its built to make you have the feel of a regular bike and not a moped also at full boost if you pedal slow you'll go slow you must pedal hard or atleast semi hard

    Hi Adrian, I am considering changing my chainring on my FX4 from a 40T to a 46T chainring. I reviewed all of the technical figures and feel this is the way for me to proceed. My question to you is do you like your 44T chainring or would you think a 46T would work better? I ride a lot of flat bike paths and notice I only have 2 to 3 gears I utilize so I figured changing the chainring up front would be a noticeable upgrade. Thanks and happy riding to you!

    AC, are you still enjoying the FX4 Carbon? I just took one for a test spin at my local Trek shop and the first thing I noticed was that I ran out of gears in the parking lot. I had an FX6 last year and immediately noticed the difference in lack of gearing on the FX4. I decided to purchase the FX4 Carbon but opted for a 46T chain ring. This should get me where I need to be on the paved flat trails without running out of gearing on the flats. How do you like the ride of the 46T? I will be picking my bike up tomorrow afternoon. I've been looking for a silver road/fitness bike for some time as the color is rare and has always been my favorite, for a bike. I prefer the straight bar over drop bar. I found I was able to keep up with some roadies on the Fx6. I'm hoping I can do the same witht he 46T chain ring. I'm glad to finally find what I'm looking for with this model.

      Thanks for the comment..Question what happened to your fx6? I really wanted it but it was always sold out…Now for this bike I think the 46t or even 48t would be a better option to the 44t but you will have to add chain links

      @@adriancoats5383 Long story short on the FX6, purchased it year ago, and then a few weeks later, purchased a Procal 9.5. Then test road the Procal 9.7 and decided to sell the FX6 and 9.5 to consolidate to one bike. The carbon frame and and carbon rims on the 9.7 are worth the jump in price to me. The bike is ridiculously fast. Then, I decided that I needed a paved trail bike again and purchased a DS4 last fall. The bike is quick but heavy. To have a mountain bike that is lighter than a hybrid is crazy, thus the decision to go back for the FX4. The FX6 is now extremely hard to find and I never really liked the color scheme of it. Silver is my favorite color, so modifing the FX4 to get it close to the FX6 in gearing is good enough for me!
