Yeah completely agree which is why the initial reaction to her posts feels really unwarranted.

The bible only has one interpretation with many possible applications which is probably why we have so many religious sects (and not just in the Philippines). Having said that I still do believe going to church is an important part of Christian life (since the early Christians did that as well). with regard to Spotlight, honestly, there are many movies blocked or censored or completely dropped from being picked up here because of either religious meddling or simply because it won't appeal to the masses. Being morally upright is only subjective though when it's based on people's opinions. It's infallible, however, when based on what the Bible says, I believe.

Appreciate d response. Only mentioned Phils 2 make it relevant, that's why. Scriptures document Christian persecutions; so maybe that's why church-going was essential (bible study groups weren't popular back then?). :-o Spotlight highlighted man's shortcomings while (trying) 2 teach from an "infallible" source; so its becoming prudent 2 b wary of experienced church leaders (e.g. INC, Jesus Is Lord, & d like) it seems. =/ Then again, just take my views as grains of salt. ^_^

@@ChineezPnoy well actually, they met house to house but also went to temples, so I would say that's akin to going to church and meeting in small groups or bible study groups. I think the right attitude would be though when listening to experienced church leaders would be to listen with an open heart then check with scripture if it lines up. A group called the Bereans in Acts 17 is mentioned to do the same. Church teachers and leaders are not supposed to be infallible as I believe they should be accountable. Whenever a teacher professes themselves to be infallible or inerrant, there will always be a possibility for abuse.
