    Ah darn. I had a Razer Deathadder from 2009 and the mouse wheel only just this year broke on me - almost a 15 year run. I’ve had two Razer deathadders on my 2nd pc - one essential iirc and one a premium version - and they both end up with this switch issue where one mouse click is registered as multiple clicks constantly. I’ve read that it’s an issue caused by static. Does this procedure correct the issue? Also is there a mouse out there that doesn’t have these issues, that can be recommended?

    • @RetroRepairYT
      @RetroRepairYT 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This would for sure fix your problem. I didnt know it was caused by static. I am unsure if there is a mouse out there that does not have this issue. Majority of all mise have switches in them

      @@RetroRepairYT never had this switch issue with my old deathadder I bought back in 2009, 15 years perfect run until whatever was holding the mouse wheel up broke. If I had the know how I probably could fix the wheel back in place… ps. Sorry for deleting my comment and reposting, it wasn’t using your username in chat for some reason :S

      I got you, to understand which replacement thumbsticks you need, navigate to Settings → System → Steam Deck Controller ID. If the Controller ID starts with “MEDA”, that device uses a Type A thumbstick, then this joystick is perfect for you. If the Controller ID starts with “MHDA”, that device uses a Type B thumbstick.

    How would one fix a rumble feature that no longer works, but the motor, when applied to external power, does work?

    • @RetroRepairYT
      @RetroRepairYT 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would suggest reflowing the chips around the power of the rumble. You sound like you have a cold solder joint on one of them, hopefully. If not then it could be a corroded trace or a chip may have gone bad. Chasing the issue past reflowing can be a long rabbit hole. Not to hurt your out look. Just covering all perspectives.

      I really do think your fine on that one. Now a days your game saves are held on a chip without a battery so they are safe. Wish it were so easy. Changed my caps and lost power. Can't figure it out. Polarity is good, nothing appears shorted together. Power button has continuity... argh

      That does sound super frustrating. If you're having problems like that I suggest checking out the wiki in my description and going under the section ' Audio / Video / Powerbox Wiring Reference' It may help you if you need to run a bypass

      @RetroRepairYT I give up. I basically learned that i needed flux. Kept ruining pads, it's too much for me. I ordered flux and everything should go smoother on future repair attempts.

      I understand dude, yeah flux is a highly needed thing if you want to preserve pads. But you will see though that with flux the pads will attract like a magnet.

    Just curious.... why are there 2 boards to solder? Why wouldn't KunaiGC just have 1 board to be soldered onto IPL IC? That'd be alot quicker and less prone to bad soldering... unless I'm missing something. Good presentation and commentary. Thanks

      That is a good question. I would have to go by speculation on this for if I knew the creators I would ask. But my speculation is. When you create a board like the kunai GC it has multiple layers in it for different traces leading to the IC or other components such as the memory on the board things like that. So if we think about that you can kind of see it in your mind as like a highway stacked on another highway with different lanes. And there could be more lanes stacked on top of those lanes. Personally I'm not sure because I do not have access to the CAD files or Gerber files. Now let's talk about the quick solder board. This specifically only has one job and it's to go from top to bottom of that board on the cascillated parts and lead out to solder pads. In the manufacturing process the machines can only do what their inputted at for a bulk production run. Which means the kunai GC is most likely made multiple at once on one consistent board and then it's cut to separate the individual kunai GCs to make it a product. So really they can't switch board layered specifications when they're making a huge PCB wafer of many kunai gcs So they would have to make another huge board of many quick soccer boards on it with those specifications of layers. Again this is only speculation but highly plausible from this thought process. And it's done like this because it's the cheapest way to manufacture in batch form. Now I know I just wrote you a book and I am sorry. But I really do hope that it made sense.

    Bro question on my elite series 2 controller the Paddle 4 is unresponsive and I can t hear the click of Paddles 1 and 3 do you know what to do

    • @RetroRepairYT
      @RetroRepairYT 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting, I would try swapping the paddles around to see if you can get it to click. If that works then that means you have use those paddles so much you have worn them down. And I would recommend getting a new set of paddles if that works
