gosh, a hot guy in a hot high-prescription diving mask -- that is amazing!

Don't get clear dive masks for anyone who snorkels on the surface of the water, sunlight shines through the clear rubber often and reflects off the inside of your mask and makes it harder to see. Diving deeper like when you scuba, the issue diminishes with depth. But I'll never use a clear mask for snorkeling.

Does the UV coating change how you see things? I dive in the Pacific Northwest where vis is anywhere from 40ft to 1ft... I'm buying a prescription mask so I can see as far as my buddy and love the idea of a replaceable skirt so the mask can be repaired if damaged but I'm concerned that the UV coating will turn that 40ft vis day into a 35ft vis day.

are the prescription lenses removable? if mask goes bad or broken? Thanks

I have used my VentureHeat "Heated Surfing / Diving Undersuit" for a couple years now & until one of the batteries stopped taking a charge, I loved it. Now that the 1 year warranty is over, I need to replace a battery. I thought I could take advantage of their Labor Day sale. The email I received from Venture Heat specifically says "LABOR DAY SALE 20% OFF SITEWIDE". Nowhere in the email or website does it mention that batteries and accessories are excluded. After I could not get the discount to apply (and yes, I clicked on the discount link & found the battery listed on the site.), I called their customer service & was basically told, "Sorry, you are out of luck. Batteries are not included." I'm disappointed in the incredibly poor customer service.

Hi, can you give me a tips on choosing an accurate grade for swim? I am -2.50 (myopia), I buy already -2.50 prescription swimming goggle and I love using it out of the water because it fits my grade but when I use it in the water or pool it seems like I'm wearing a -3.25 eyeglass. Could you give me an idea on choosing right grade for my eyes?

More on the black vs. clear decision. While the clear lets more light in, you can't actually see anything through the skirt. That light doesn't help you see. It actually makes it harder to see what you're trying to see through the lenses. Black blocks that extraneous light and makes it easier to see what you're looking at. Plus, they looker cooler. ;-)

how much astigmatism correction can you offer in these masks? my OD is SPH 0.00 / CYL -0.50 / axis 133 and my OS is SPH +0.25 / CYL -0.50 / axis 70

This really didn't tell much of anything to do with prescriptions or how they are worked into the masks.

Do you offer a fit guaranty? My wife has a small face, and it is very hard for her to find a mask that does not leak.

I bought an Aria full face snorkel mask by Ocean Reef, chosen because I needed the Optical Support System to hold my prescription lenses as I am short sighted. I took this mask on an organised 2 weeks snorkelling holiday to Galapagos in February 2020. Once there, despite fitting perfectly and not leaking, it continually misted up. I used defog products, equalised temperature, took steps to keep it dry by preventing sea water splash wetting the inside, tried every bit of advice given to me by the very experienced holiday guide and the 16 other experienced snorkellers on holiday. The snorkelling was ruined, I couldn’t see anything, at one point at Kickers Rock I was in such severe danger because I couldn’t see I was swimming into the open ocean, the guide had to dive in and pull me back. On my return home I discovered the seal between the two compartments inside the mask was dislodged and immediately returned to the supplier Mike’s Dive Store, 113 Power Rd, Chiswick, London W4 5PY. I am astounded at their response, received today 7th July 2020, they say there is nothing wrong with the mask - I am being called a liar, along with the tour company guide and 16 fellow members of my group. They are suggesting returning the mask to me. What on earth is the point of returning a faulty mask for me take on another holiday and ruin that too. I am extremely unhappy, very disappointed in the Customer Service of Mike’s Dive Store. I had been extremely polite in my correspondence to them and asked them to propose a solution here that would give me happy snorkelling in the future and this is how I am treated. I am happy to give my full contact details to anyone who wants more information. WARNING DO NOT BUY THIS MASK AND DO NOT DEAL WITH MIKE’S DIVE STORE.

I have -1.25 vision in both eyes and a bit of astigmatism - I'm going for my first dive this week. I've heard of people with my type of vision that have been able to dive with regular masks and see almost perfectly. What is your experience with my type of vision?

How prevelant is AIS/DSC Technology for recreational and commercial vessels in US open waters? I don't believe its a mandatory requirement to carry these technologies however it may be commonly used, I'm uncertain thus post this question.
