Dating my wife in Amalfi Coast
The main treat of our honeymoon was 3 days and 2 nights in Amalfi. This wonderful trip involved us taking a tour bus from Naples through some of the towns on the Amalfi coast including Sorrento and Positano, before stopping by a restaurant with an amazing panoramic view out into the Tyrrhenian Sea. Once in Amalfi, we checked into the honeymoon suite in the Santa Caterina hotel and enjoyed 2 relaxing days where we took the boat tour, explored the town, and enjoyed our private infinity pool. Finally, we needed to figure out a way to get back to Naples from Amalfi, since there didn't appear to be any direct routes via public transport. Check out the video to see how we managed to do it!

    I feel bad for these people. I’m in America and I can see how our media definitely distorts the narrative to create instability all over the world not just in china. And many peoples all over the world fall for our media b.s, it’s even sad to watch a native Chinese walk around like he or she is illegal in his native lands. Unless they were part of illegal groups which are all over the world and western countries fund to bring chaos and instability through “color revolutions”. Walking around with so much suspicion and paranoia seems exhausting.

      Hey Jared, looks like you've been making your way through some of our humble videos haha. It's a difficult topic as I'm sure you know. When it comes to the media and foreign-policy in general, there's always going to be a "lens" that one group or another will want you to see things through. I think the only way is for each person to simply travel more, see more, and experience more. The world is actually a very big place, with different philosophies in play; and there really isn't a "one-size-fits-all" or a "this is the one and only correct way to do things".

    • @ekmarriedlife
      @ekmarriedlife 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Jared, thanks for watching the video. Actually I was born and raised in the UK and moved to Hong Kong in my early 30s. I agree with you that there generally is a distorted view of the UK by Hong Kongers, perhaps by Asia in general. It's not like what they might see from glamourised television, i.e. Eton College or the Cotswolds. Imagine a Hong Konger's shock (one who has never been abroad) if they stood in a rough town in UK, getting shouted at and slandered by Chavs. But in any case, it's still an interesting discussion for myself and my wife who is born and raised in Hong Kong. There's a dynamic there where her husband (me) is a full-fledged British Citizen, which opens more doors to the idea of migration than it would for people who only hold a BNO. In any case, regardless of one's view point on this matter, my hope is for those who make the choice to migrate away from HK to have a successful transition and future. At the end of the day, moving your entire life abroad is *hard*.

I’m worried that my foreign credit card may get rejected if it is card only. Also, I note you have to give an address you are staying at in Shenzhen on the application form, what would I write on the form as I’m doing a day trip only. Finally, once I come back from Shenzhen to Hong Kong can I get the high speed train back as I already have the visa at that stage? Sorry for all the questions.

      It depends if you're a Chinese national who has a China Return Home Permit. Typically Chinese nationals who have settled in Hong Kong or Macau can get this and will not need a visa. But foreigners, i.e. myself a British Citizen, will need a visa - and one of the types of available visas for Shenzhen is a 5-day Visa on Arrival that you can get at certain ports entering Shenzhen.

I had one when I went to Shanghai on a one time entry. as long as you have one proper China visa and you have a HKID - then you can apply for the long term visa. No need to go many many times. I know the informaiton online is awful and took me awhile and multiple conversations to get the proper infomraiton. so follow this!

    I'm from Singapore and I've been to China for both leisure and work, stayed there for awhile too. I think some of the safety concerns you're describing are very rare in China, thanks to surveillance cameras being ubiquitous in public. When I was working there, I usually take walks after midnight as I like night walks and I feel very safe just as I am back in Singapore. I don't think I can say the same for UK. My friend got pickpocketed in London when we were travelling around Europe. We've heard of many such incidents before, but we thought they're just rumors. It was a huge hassle for us as my friend's travelling documents were stolen as well. Based on our experiences, we can say with confidence that China--a developing country--feels much safer than most developed western countries we've been to. Also, I'm very skeptical as to why you'd mention something so specific about pickpocketing in your video. I'm guessing it's the stereotype that people have been spreading back from wherever you are, or maybe that's how it is back home and you assume it applies the same to China? If you're going to another country without an open-mind, you're doing yourself a disservice. I like travelling and I've been to many countries where such things are actually common (based on personal experience and statistics), but it's not something I'd go around telling my friends unless I experience it myself firsthand, because it would be unfair to the country. You're putting yourself at risk of seemingly criticizing a country only for the sake of it. Just my 5 cents.

    • @ekmarriedlife

      You're absolutely right, I did feel safer in Shenzhen at night than I did when I lived in London for many years. The same can be said about Hong Kong, if I am out and about late at night I always feel at ease. Back in London I was attacked and robbed of my belongings by some thugs - a much worse situation than simple pickpocketing. The attack was direct and out in the open, they simply targeted me and took what they could before running off. I guess I can perhaps try to explain why I mentioned the pickpocketing since you feel skeptical. I was holding my camera out in the open when recording this video and if you notice in the part where there is red carpet on the road, one of the electric scooters drives by quite close to me. It is "off camera" but I noticed the man keep glancing at me and my phone, and it made me remember that I was in a place that I am unfamiliar with and if something bad were to happen I would be much more vulnerable than if I was in my home city. If I was making a video in any other country I would've still mentioned the same warnings and precautions for travelers - sometimes it is in the safest places where we let our guard down, and that is when a single moment of "wrong place wrong time" can happen. Please keep an open mind yourself as to why people have their viewpoints as these too will often be grounded in their own experiences. Your 5 cents are valuable, but I think we all have our own small pieces of valuable advice that we can share with each other.

    • @Alexpktang

      Pickpocket times in China were long gone. There were many reasons for that, most of all, people are much well off, gone are the days of extreme dirt poor society. it does not justify the risk to be a criminal and easily be caught and face extreme punishment. Secondly, because Alipay and WeChat pay are so prevalent, I guess no one would carry a large sum of money in their pocket. No point in picking an empty pocket !
