i am sharing my experience, I recently bought skoda slavia 1.0 mt, it costs just 12.5 lakh on road base variant , i got discount as my friend is working in skoda showroom, its a rocket with 6 air bags and 5 star safety, i modified it with leather interiors and alloy wheels i bought them from skoda showroom ,not from outside market , and 360 cam outside with cost of 1.2 lakh for all , it just looks like the top model now i just spent 13.5lakh and owned a german luxury sedan with 180 mm ground clearance which is more than enough in indian roads, more than that , i feel very safe while travelling in slavia, and mileage is very great like 11-12 kmpl in city and 17-19 kmpl in highway I suggest every middle class guys to spend 12-13 lakh while buying a car and try to buy a best car like skoda slavia, mileage is good nearly 20 in highway, service cost is 8k for a service for 5 years it cost 34-40 k lets compare slavia with baleno , baleno top model cost 12-12.5 lakh, once think is it good to buy a dabba aluminium car like baleno by spending 12.5 lakh top model with 0 star safety or will you choose or spend 12.5-13 lakh on a big sedan like slavia , which gives best mileage ( note: claimed mileage is 20.32, but my car gives 17-19 in highway and 11-13 in city) and has 8k service cost and dont beleive about spare parts as all say , its not that costly because skoda is actively selling in india , moreover you will not get repairs in slavia as its a german car , you can drive it happily for 10 years , for baleno service cost is 27-34 k per 5years average is 6k per service, i think 2k is not a matter as skoda has 8k per year service and you are owning a big car dude i suggest every middle class guy to buy skoda slavia base variant, its dead cheap , you can bargain with showroom, they will give it for 12.5 lakh , and service is damn good , 1 negative in slavia base variant is it does not have rare ac vents , but trust me , front ac vents is more than enough to cool the full car cabin but it takes extra 5 min to cool the cabin when compared to the top model slavia, and power and torque of the car is damn good man i suggest every middle class guy should buy skoda slavia base variant and modify it it will just cost you 13-13.5 totally
