A snippet from a December 2022 Spiro Ave x Justin Thind episode where I discussed my career origin, reception from others in the space, approach to access journalism, and advice for the new wave of recruiting reporters. Full Episode: th-cam.com/video/tpXdNDRWONM/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=SpiroAvenue
Breakdown: Michigan State vs Wisconsin - 3 Key Plays
มุมมอง 810ปีที่แล้ว
Breaking down 3 notable offensive plays that MSU called against the Badgers. The first two running plays show some impressive blocking by Keon Coleman, Daniel Barker, Tyler Hunt, and Spencer Brown, as well as solid running by Jalen Berger. The final play shows a great throw by Payton Thorne, as well as a great catch by Coleman.
Jacoby Windmon in 1 minute: Analysis (Week 1 - 2021)
มุมมอง 1.5K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Former UNLV DE/LB JaCoby Windmon had a phenomenal Michigan State debut on 9/2/21 against Western Michigan. Showcased a new “ghost move” that MSU pass rush specialist Brandon T. Jordan can be credited with. Firmly put himself on the map, if his all-Mountain West 2021 season didn’t already do so. Legit NFL draft prospect. Brief tape analysis/breakdown above.
Katin Houser in 1 Minute (MSU commit)
มุมมอง 1.9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
2022 St. John Bosco (California) QB prospect Katin Houser broken down into a handful of highlight plays. The former Boise State commit just flipped to Michigan State and is now the Spartans' highest-ranked commit in the class. He was a top target for Mel Tucker, Jay Johnson, and the staff for several months. Houser is ranked by 247Sports as a four-star and will have the chance to boost his rati...
MSU QB Anthony Russo in 1 Minute
มุมมอง 2.9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's a quick ~1 minute video I spliced together of new Michigan State transfer QB Anthony Russo. I don't own the rights to this video. Most of these clips were recorded from GM6ix's various Russo videos, from which I wanted to create a much more concise, singular video (which still showed off his varied skill-set). I also don't own rights to the music. Song: Polo G - "21"
Kenneth Walker III in 1 Minute (New MSU RB)
มุมมอง 13K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's a quick 1 minute display of new Michigan State transfer running back Kenneth Walker III. He's the Spartans' fifth transfer portal addition under the Mel Tucker Era. Walker had 13 TDs in 7 games for Wake Forest in 2020. Disclaimer: I spliced these 6 plays together using media owned by the ACC Network and other TH-cam channels, in order to create a mashup that I felt was an effective showc...
Crazy WF didn't play him more. What a great find by MSU.
Really like your material thanks for the analysis.
@@Siberia-Spartan thanks for watching!
I patiently await your Haralson crystal ball
Where do people get the game footage that isn't from a network? I'd love to analyze the Spartans and Lions, but most network video cuts out players, is too focused in. And in the case of the crappy BTN, they have the camera following people on the sidelines when a play is going on.
@@YTSparty NFL All-22 is readily available on NFL+ but college footage is impossible to get if you don’t work in football directly, hence why I had to use broadcast footage.
@@JustinThind Oh, that looked like team footage not BTN.
@@YTSparty Nope! Team footage is usually very zoomed out. All 22 players will be seen on the screen at all times, until the ball finds its final target/ball-carrier.
I like your channel! Subscribed!
Awesome work Justin - the deep balls to Marsh were game-changing obviously, but some of those opposite hash out routes you highlighted that Chiles was able to make with velocity and accuracy...damn. I said watching the game that those were NFL throws. I'll take the growing pains, because this guy is clearly some of the best talent we've had at QB in a long, long time.
@@stevepyzik6286 thanks for watching, appreciate it!
It's Michigan's favorite MSU insider.
Nice Breakdown Justin but please replace the battery in your smoke detector
@@conoregan5363Haha I thought I isolated myself far enough away from the beeping noise, guess I was wrong!
Lil bro is recording this on his phone, can’t even make it landscape
@@ulamog That’s obviously bc landscape won’t let me zoom to this extent and key in on guys. Besides, you gave it a view regardless. Appreciate it.
Great breakdown! How do you get to watch the games back on film?
@@theexposer8673Thank you! And it’s just the TV copy sadly, that’s why you see the scorebug at the bottom still. That’s why I couldn’t really analyze anything pertaining to routes or downfield coverages. Would need all-22 film for that.
Kudos Justin, excellent observation critiques. I learned quite a bit from your 13 minutes. I hope you will continue with a critique after each game.
Means a lot, thanks a lot!
@@JustinThind Please know I've been bleeding Green since attending and graduating from East Lansing High School class of 1969 and don't pass out compliments easily.
Great job at highlighting some of Chiles' more impressive throws during last Saturday's game while also pointing out some of the subtle aspects of complex coverage. He truly is an impressive young talent to watch and I'm here for it.
Thanks for watching! And agreed.
Big fan of the film breakdown! Appreciate you posting this, hope they continue!
Thanks for watching and for commenting!
I think they were around 39 passes to 30 run plays. With the O-line not quite gelling yet in the run game, Do you think they'll continue to pass more through the middle 4 games? Thanks! Love your work, man!
Thanks! And I think it will certainly depend on what the defense is trying to limit. For example, they ran it more than they threw it in the first half, but then the second half was the opposite. Total numbers still seen somewhat balanced, but there was a stretch where they threw it 9 of 12 plays in the 2H. They'll take what the defense gives.
Great breakdown of the schemes, excited to see what this staff does the rest of the year. Chiles will be fun to watch, your insights were a much more nuanced and cerebral take on what makes him an exciting young player to watch. I hope you do more film reviews the rest of the season! Thanks!
@@drgarrett thanks for watching!
The kid clearly needs to learn how to get the ball out a lot faster if he wants to be a permanant starter in the NFL. I do have to say he does have himself a pretty solid scrambling ability. He looks like the kind of QB that he might need to think about sitting behind a veteran QB to learn the system before taking over by learning the playbook and getting in touch with key attributes that he will need at the next level.
He plays in the Indoor Football League now
I think he's gonna be pretty good
This is going to be his season highlights at this rate if they don't step it up against power 5 teams
Jacoby needs the other guys on the DL to get healthy and then also be effective, because he’s getting doubled-teamed all the time right now. It’s less about the schedule getting harder and more about Barrow, Slade, Pietrowski, Bogle, and Hansen all missing time in the last 3 games next to him.
Coach Jordan is going to send numerous players to the NFL. Mel Tucker will take MSU to the next level beyond what Dantonio achieved.
Who’s a better runner Thorne or Hauser I know both are pass first guys but just to get an idea of he compares?
Ok. Kid got a rocket arm. Go Green
Wake Forest let this dude walk away??? lol his vision is unreal!
#10 in the Nation, Wake runs a 3 back system and he wanted to be the only RB, MSU had no running game so he went there
Absolute stud
Wake Forest runs a stupid scheme
Hell yeah 👍. Go green!
What an awesome signing by MSU!
National Playlist of the Week. Whether it's official or not, we know.
Dude just dropped a 4td 250 yard game
Walker for Heisman
Ya'll don't know but MSU is going to change the game and breakout, this team is impressive!!
How many touches did he have in the bowl game against MSU?
www.espn.com/college-football/boxscore/_/gameId/401135273
He looks like a solid QB, and can be pretty accurate with his throws. Go Green!
Next Lamar Jackson?!?!?
Huh
New MSU Quarterback!?!?
harold joiner vs kenneth walker for the starting job imo
Harold probably isn't even in the conversation. He is a utility h-back, more like Charles Clay than an actual RB. Eli Collins is back to his pre-Covid weight and speed, so he will be RB2.
@@JustinThind Thanks! Do you think Walker will most likely be RB1? or is there a sleeper like simmons?
@@comenplaysfc No problem! And no, it's Walker's spot for sure. And like I was saying, Eli Collins is going to be RB2. Simmons can't challenge for RB1 if he's not even the second-best RB haha. There is a lot of talent in that room tho
As a HUGE Spartan fan for most of my life, this kid looks promising. Spartans! What is your profession?
Ha-ooh! Ha-ooh! Ha-ooh!
Go green Go white
Like a shiftier Edwin Baker
Been a long time since we had a play making rb. Hope the oline makes holes and he makes magic
Reminds me of a Barry Sanders type!
Shades of Barry. He has the vision and moves. Just missing the blazing speed of Barry.
@@vangnengkue3484 He’s a Barry/Lynch combo. The surefootedness, agility, and “field view” of Barry, and the pure beatdown power of Marshawn. Thats the recipe for sheer domination, as he can burn big plays and grind down a defense equally well.
With the new linemen we got and this guy! He reads blocks like no other! Hes going to be devastating! On top of Russo and the WRs we got now, I see the Spartans coming up!
Payton Thorne is the man. Can't ask for more out of a guy starting his 1st full season than what Thorne has provided. Not perfect but pretty damn good, young and will be here 2 more years.
This take aged like fine wine
Can we block for him up front is going to be the question.
They can block it's just the injures
Can’t wait
Damn this guy is the shit, he’s going to be a major addition to the Spartans
