1966 Mustang: Drake Hood Pin's & Carpet install.
Drake Hood Pin installation, and I finally got the rest of the carpet installed. R-Model front bumper should be next, but who knows I always seem to get distracted with something else.

Battery Relocate - 1966 Mustang
มุมมอง 48หลายเดือนก่อน
Time for a Battery Relocate. The Mustang is really starting to feel like a race car. I was going to do the R-Model Apron but I needed hood pins before I could get started. So, next is actually installing the rest of the carpet and getting the hurst shifter boot in place.
1966 Mustang Drive train swap
มุมมอง 3192 หลายเดือนก่อน
No big explanation needed, swapped out the 302 for a much stronger 302, T5 trans, Hooker competition headers, 8.8 Posi with 4:10 gears, new drive shaft and Panhard bar. Drive train came out of a 1994 Fox Body. Didn't get to the radiator or battery relocation. Coming soon.

I bought a complete drive train that came out of a 1994 Mustang 5.0. Was in a race car and ultimately got parted out. Someone wanted the shell, and I wanted the drivetrain. Here we go.
Little bit of this and that. Update.

Nice channel and great info my build is similar but a converible
Can we talk to your brother , to get more information
Nah wouldn't be possible, but what info are you looking for?
Hey there, love the build.. Did you narrow the 8.8 Rear ? Good luck 🤞 shaking it down on the road!!
No narrowing of rear end, wanted the wide stance for an aggressive look and better handling. The 8.8 gave me an additional 2 inches over all.
Did it help with your bump steer?
Keep up the good work. Sweet car
Make your project easier , go to Harbor Freight and buy a blast cabinet and glass bead and clean your parts that way, it works great saves time and money in the long run + your buddies will probably pay you to clean their project parts as well. Your total cost will probably be less than $300 which you will spend anyway with other methods, sand paper & wire wheels have gotten really expensive& hopefully you already have an air compressor as you have already prepped your parts for paint by masking them off.
I'll have to look into that, wire wheeling everything is a pain and messy as hell. I do have a compressor, been doing a combo right angle grinder, and standard grinder. This whole project has already cost me my right arm. Thanks for the info!
Thank you for your support and for the video! Enjoy your upgrades!
my 2 cents....nice set up , but anti seize collects massive dirt...keep threads clean and when adjusting spray WD40 all over threads, and adjust. WD40 cleans off and dries nice. taught to me by major SCCA racer.
that does not look like its gonna help with bump steer
It's designed to help eliminate play, and correct suspension geometry on lowered Mustangs, which mine will be significantly and improve toe angle. This bump steer replacement specifically works with 65-66 spindle w/70 big pin which I upgraded to as well. But, I guess we'll see. Thanks and sorry took so long to reply, I'm new to this TH-cam deal.
lowering the front of the car with the tie rod in stock position I found really helps maybe even better with this mod@@1966MustangRace
your sway bar link is backwards , the threads are suppose to be on top not through the U/C arm
Eagle eye, thanks!
please
give her to me
