If I had a nickel for every time a team named the Browns moved to Baltimore and took on a bird as their nickname, I'd have two nickels. That isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

The 1914 Austin Senators of the Texas League also had a 31 game losing streak in 1914 covering the dates of June 14 through July 11.

Thanks for sharing this information. Their losing streak was not mentioned in any of the research we did about losing streaks. Just now looking up newspaper articles it isn't fully clear how long it lasted, as again there's conflicting information both in articles and in the league standings. But it is clear, they had a long losing streak. Thanks for watching!

@@minorleaguenerd I checked Dallas,Galveston and San Antonio papers and they all agree that the streak lasted 31 games starting with game 2 of a doubleheader on June 14 and ending on July 12 with a win in game 1 of a doubleheader.

I went to dozens of games at Bosse Field, the E-Sox first, then the Trips. The ballpark was so poorly lighted you could barely tell where the ball was going. But the first year the Brewers were there, the creator of this video doesn't include, they actually borrowed players like Collucio and Mitchell from other teams because the Milwaukee farm system was only a year old after the move from Seattle. The next year, they won the AA pennant. The E-Sox were in first place the year the parent White Sox were so terrible that they literally pulled all the E-Sox and sent them to Indy to replace the Indians who were called up to replace the terrible Sox team. You can't do that today. E-Sox went from 1st to 4th inside of 2 weeks. They played some notable teams, like Birmingham, which had Bando and Reggie Jackson. Lack of Sunday beer sales in Indiana hurt the franchise for the first couple of years until the state finally let them sell beer by the cup.

Evansville did not know what we had. How do you not support a Triple-A club? We have a difficult time supporting all of our sports teams. Well, at least for the last couple decades. There was a time when UE Aces basketball and USI Eagles basketball were supported. It’s just sad that we don’t seem to appreciate what we have. The Tri-State needs to realize that we are not a big league metro area. We are an area built for minor league sports. We need to embrace that.
