Love this one! I came here from your video today, 9-18-24 where you started a new series of listening to a mystery set in a yarn ahop while watching you crochet this bar stitch. Of course I had to come learn this stitch, its very neat! I think I'll make 2 squares & stitch them together for a hot pad. I love the look of those front posts running from bottom to top. Great instruction Princeton as usual, thank you! 🧶💜

Loved it Princeton! It was so much fun to sit back for a short time & relax while watching you crochet & listening to a story filled with things from our hobby we love. To top it off, I'm not familiar with the bar stitch, so I can pop over to your instruction video to learn something new. You brought together my two favorite things, crochet & crime mysteries. As popular as they both are, I'm surprised someone has not put the two together as a concept for videos. Such a fun, unique & different video that checked all the boxes! 🧶💜

Hello, Princeton. Once I learned to weave in the yarn ends (after more than 40 years of crochet!) I never went back. The trick is to have as few as possible, which is not always realistic! The teachers I saw do this on TH-cam (not American) went back and forth and up and down with the needle, and you couldn't see the extra yarn on either side of the fabric. I think this extra detail makes the finished look a tad smoother, and most of my wearables can be worn on either side because there are no knots - it's all woven in. That doesn't mean you can't achieve the same effect without using the yarn needles. We each should use the techniques with which we are most comfortable. I'm glad I went to see Sirin's channel today as I found a new yarnie to follow!

Hi Cynthia! Thank you so much for sharing your experience and tips for weaving in ends - 40 years of crochet is incredible! I agree, weaving in the ends really does give projects a cleaner and more professional look. I also love how it makes wearables reversible! Everyone definitely has their own style, and finding what works best is key. I’m so glad you enjoyed Sirin’s channel - she’s great! Happy crocheting, and thanks again for your thoughtful comment!
