How To Replace Jaguar XJ8 Transmission Mount, 1998 - 2003 Jaguar XJ8
This is a replacement video of the Transmission mount on a 1998 Jaguar XJ8.
If over time a heavy, momentary, vibration has developed in your XJ while shifting gears (Park to drive, Drive to Reverse, Reverse to Park, etc..) I would inspect the transmission mount. I suggest removing the mount to thoroughly inspect the rubber. Very likely it's deteriorating or separated from the metal casting. This job is fairly easy and I opt'd to replace the mount with an inexpensive unit from Autozone.

This video is walkthrough replacement video of the Coolant Crossover Tube/ Pipe and Thermostat. No gaskets were provided with the replacement parts aside from the rubber seals. I used a small amount of "Permatex Ultra Red Silicone Automotive Gasket Maker" for the thermostat housing to ensure there would be no leaks. No extra gasket or gasket maker was used for the crossover tube assembly. Refil...
My mount does not fall out like yours. I removed all 3 bolrs and loosened the four on the sides. What is holding it on? I cannot pry it out.Its an 01 Vanden Plas not SC
Did you get it figured out man? I think your mount was the original and the rubber melted/fused to the bracket or some
No. It will not budge. Not with a 3 lb sledge
My mount will not come out when I remove all three bolts and slacken the four bolts on the outside. I can't even pry it out.
