Thank you! NHL Slapshot is fan-freaking-tastic. It's the perfect "modern" update to NHL 94, which, as we all know, is the greatest sports videogame of all time. The pee-wee mode is superp, the NHL/CHL games are brilliant, action is always fierce and intense, and the highlights at the end of the periods show your best collisions. Hah! The Wiimote checks and slapshots are sooo satisfying, just like the slam dunks in NBA Jam. This is how you do the "waggle" right. NOBODY paid any attention to this game when it came out. Most gamers had already quit Nintendo Wii by 2010, and that plastic hockey stick probably made everyone think this would be yet another mediocre minigame collection. Instead, it's possibly the best EA hockey game in nearly 20 years. Wild. It's still dirt cheap today and exclusive to the Wii.
