Sarah, I do agree with you when you say, " I don't have bad experience with South Sudanese men". You know why? Because you are the decent wife material. And a real man can easily recognize that. Man can easily differentiate, the different between a girl to be use for sex and the girl who would be a future wife. Not because of beauty though. A girl must have something to add to the beauty which is discipline and behaviors. And I believe you have those qualities. God bless you.

This was a good topic, thank you ladies of Sosa for great analysis, even though I totally disagree with some your points. Don't limits your choices for the sake of looking for educated man. Remember family or husband and wife is bigger than certificate and money. There are some uneducated men, who successful than those who are educated. If you really want a good and happiest life, look for a decency man with a good heart. If he has a quality education too, well and good.

I'm a happily married woman who had only guy friends most of my life. My bestie to this day is a guy. Zero attraction. He's another sibling to me. I had male friends because of working in the IT industry.... and because women were too much work/drama. Now, at 59, I have several girlfriends in my neighborhood, through chance encounters, and in my Bible study group. Women can still be more work, but they're worth it.

I feel South Sudanese in diaspora are exeptial. Most of them grew up or their most close friends are not from the community compared to Hispanic or Asian communities, basically, we do not have access to get to know each other until we realize when we hit 20,s 30,s that how to find a good person in the community. My suggestion is that arranged marriage would be a successful opportunity for us.

There is a custom in Dinka tribe,i don't know if you guys are aware about it?, If you did not pay the dowry or you didn't complete it,the family of the bride 👰 takes your first born daughter, taking care of her...send her to school, then when she gets married they're the ones who take whole responsibility and her dowry as well, and you as her father, you don't get anything from her dowry because you didn't pay her mum's dowry, it happened to one of my homies, now his sister studies in Kenya under the responsibility of her maternal uncle, when she gets married her father will not get anything from her dowry 😅
