He had to make sure Darth Maul was gone a loose end that truly cant be found. He was found and is LUCAS Cannon and his story was good even the part that spilled into the disney cannon. But once Disney mistake great story telling for something that needs to be wiped up and discarded it was over, but one day someone will rise to readjust that which was unjust.

In the end though, Maul realized both he and Dooku weren't so different after all since they were both just disposable pawns for Sidious who's true goal was Vader. Its sadder still when one realizes Sidious didn't train either of them properly in the dark side. He only ever intended Maul to be an assassin, and trained him as such, while he only ever gave Dooku a crash course in the dark side to ensure he didn't get too powerful (Granted Dooku was already adept in dark side techniques like Sith Lightning before he even met Sidiious) still, as placeholders Sidious never intended for either of them reach their full potential as Sith. Although it is fair to say Sidious considered Maul a bigger loss than Dooku since Dooku was never true Sith material.

I always thought this story was exciting.

Mara Jade is my favorite #1 Expanded Universe character. I read the Dark Horse comics Heir to the Empire trilogy. I even love it when she and Luke got married. I only wish this was in the next trilogy for the movies. I even met a model named Shannon Baksa who protrayed Mara for a game card at a comic convention years ago.

let this sink in, every single one of dookus apprentices were a threat to sidious plans but dooku was the ideal puppet for sidious. idk if dooku is smart for having a 100 percent success rate in training people that can be a threat to palpatine or if dooku is a absolute clown for allowing himself to be played by sidious while dookus students are able to pose a threat to sidious

Wow! I knew a little bit about Jacen but did not know how it ended. Thank you for the story 😀😀

It still cheeses me off they did this to Jacen. I'd say his fall starts when he's replaced with Jaacen in Vector Prime, cause it's not the same character from Bantam Era, and his arrogance was ripe for an eventual fall. However, Legacy of the Force was such a painfully contrived attempt to reenact Anakin Skywalker's fall. It's absolute Tolstoy next to the sequels, but everyone has to act out of character to make the story happen, which is a big warning sign that the story shouldn't have happened. With Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi had not seen a Sith in 1000 years, so it's not surprising they were unprepared, especially against 4D chess master Palpatine/Sidious, but Jacen knew better. The people around him knew better, and Lumiya was no Palpatine. It's makes so little sense, they did another nine book arch trying to explain it. However, I do have to fault the video for leaving out big chunks of why Jacen fell. His desire to protect his daughter was probably the most relatable part of the story. Vergere's corruption of Jacen by contrast is rather brilliantly written. I think she's one of the best villains in Star Wars, partly because she's a genuinely complex character with some brilliantly slippery philosophy, even takes Luke in for a bit.

In the movie novels, Palpatine said the one place her could never go was the Jedi Temple. The closest he could get (and not risk detection) was to be at a nearby building a good distance away from the Temple Entrance. His Sith Stealth wouldn't work in such a place full of concentrated light side energy. Palpatine would be detected as a Sith Lord the moment he takes one step onto the Temple grounds. It's why he never visited the Jedi Temple during the Clone Wars.
