    I don't recommend doing it that way, you are better off splicing it soldering and using adhesive shrink tube because that will be waterproof vs these can leak water in.

    Bad advice. Not the way to repair in ground splice - those are for the valve box splices only. Will not last. You need a grease filled connector or rated ground rated wire wrap.

    • @R3lligion
      @R3lligion 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those were Rainbird greased filled connectors from what I could see

    • @theorichards9463

      @@R3lligion They use silicone grease. The proper outdoor connectors use dielectric grease which conducts electricity whereas silicone grease does not.

      @@theorichards9463Not exactly. Dielectric means non conductive. A dielectric medium is an insulator (non conductive) of electricity that can be polarized. Silicone is an example of a dielectric medium.

    Great job on this video. I confess I am guilty of running these machines and expecting them to function perfectly every time just by making sure they’ve got the right mix of gas and oil. the only other thing I do at the end of the season is run the gas completely out. Also I make sure that the gasoline I use is ethanol free. It’s more expensive, but it’s a lot cheaper than having to buy a new blower or a new carburettor or whatever. you’ve been successful at reminding me that a little maintenance can go along long way. Thanks to your video I don’t have to be afraid to try doing some things myself rather than running to the repair shop.

      Yep and the 4 cylinder one is a pain to get to. Gotta take the wheel off, get the 7/8”s on it and reach behind the heat shield plate to get a downward pull on your wrench to get it out. Way more cramped then this set up for the same generation .

    I can't thank you enough for your video. Have a BG50 that would no longer crank. A new plug did not work. Cleaned it real good and replaced air & fuel filter and now she's running like a champ. Also own a 55G at another property and went ahead and did the same thing. You were 100% correct on the screws for side cover pull start. The 50 only takes 4 and are all the same size. The 55 the one in the top right is a different size. Thanks again this was so valuable. And to share both the 50 and 55 take the same Stihl air and fuel filters.
