Spurs #103 - decoration.
The last video has me building this pair. This video is mounting - sawing sterling silver, brass, copper and nickel, soldering onto the spurs then engraving with my GRS Graversmith.

Building Spurs #103

Collection of photos I took as I built this pair of spurs. Takes it from beginning up to ready-to-mount. These were a custom surprise order - they asked for extra photos of the process to make an album for recipient. Guitar track laid down by my amigo Stephen E Lee.
Jeweler’s saw demo by me.

Sawing out names to go on a pair of spurs - sawing from 22ga copper sheet, with 5/0 blade in a 6” saw frame. The design is done on paper, mostly at 200%, then printed off, cut out and glued to the metal with 3M 77 adhesive. After I saw out the piece, I’ll soak in lighter fluid to release the paper and remove the glue.

Watching this video gave me adifferent perspective on my sawing technique. Watching your form and posture has inspired me to raise my bench pin. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks - I had to saw a little on a friend’s pin once, clamped to a table-top - I ended up on my knees. I really like have the piece up in my face - but I do often saw pretty small stuff too.
