Another jam with an unfinished Raga Desh being used for the C#5. Still working on the Raga Desh, I'm not happy with a few of the notes. Now I'm wanting to test my note isolation skills and add a C#5 to a celtic minor.

Recorded on my phone, so not the best audio quality. I met up with Danny at the Crow's Nest while visiting Florida, and he was nice enough to jam on some of my handpans and offer some advice on what players need from a handpan. I had an awesome time hanging out and talking, plus got to hear some sweet jams! This is a finished instrument and is still available for sale.

I wonder what the pressure on the gauge was, and how the pressure scale with the size of the intended part -- is it linear with volume?
With 18ga 430 stainless, it reaches a max pressure of 550psi.
@@pansmithhandpans7080 Thank you! Do you think if the part had been bigger one would need a lower pressure?
@@runcycleskixc the pressure would have more overall force as area increases, but the material being formed and how far it is stretched has a great deal of influence on final pressure. 18ga 430 stainless takes 550 psi to reach a "depth" of 5 inches for this 21 inch diameter part, and if I try to go more than 5 inches, the part will tear. When using 18ga 1008 steel, I can go over 6 inches of "depth" with no failure and never exceeding 450psi. 430 stainless has far less elongation than 1008 cold rolled sheet.

Hello, I really like your design improvements over Colin’s original design. Are you using 1” steel for the large steel rings or is it 1 1/2”? I was thinking about trying 1” or even 3/4” myself, but didn’t want to waste money if it didn’t work out.
