You'd be surprised how many shops and sellers only deal with volume of selling singles. Usually the way to go is sellers that have multiples "4 or more" you test your luck for a gradable copy and sell the others back in the market. But for sure best to buy singles where you can actually see them, like local shops or ebay

@@NaturalAnimalKG you're just showing that you have no clue about investing. It's MUCH easier for a $5 raw card to double in value than it is for the same card in PSA 10 at like $50+.

@@kingbaschdor5649 yeah thats it, my collection is worth more than your 401k kid. And when you need to sell your $10 "double in value" cards, nobody wants them. But they do want the $5 card you paid $15 to grade in PSA 10 for $100+.... so yeah, I dont know shit about investing. Bozo

Only do something like that if you really really want that card in a 10 for your personal collection. Unless your economy of scale is massive (like buying and grading 200+ copies of the card) you’re likely going to break even at best and probably lose money. Even if you do super well on submissions by the time you get everything back, then manage to liquidate that amount of the same card (can’t flood the market at once or you’ll crash the price) you’re likely going to be wayyyyy behind what throwing that same amount of money in a mutual fund or something would have returned. Always something to keep in mind with a situation like this.

Welcome back to the hobby. It really depends on the condition of the card, you have to keep an eye out for those damaged corners with white dots. Edges of cards if they haven’t been cut properly and have the uneven white lines or fuzz. Centering of the borders front / back. Any print lines / scratches on the holo itself… these factors can all lower the grade of a card. Generally a good practice to sleeve cards regardless of grading. Maybe you sell them as a single if not graded

My thoughts exactly. I already bought a few copies of Houndoom, Zorua, and Cassiopia from a Japanese seller. Once the english side comes out I'll be doing the same with singles and the promos. Just don't feel the itch to rip packs for this one

Art is subjective after all, I'm sure there are cards you don't appreciate while others would pay top dollar for them. It's not your call to say if I'm in the right hobby or not. I love the houndoom art and a few others that I already bought in Japanese regardless of value. We all have our way of collecting

The houndoom is crazy good, Gold cards have awful art on them sadly they are irrelevant

Yeah most people don’t realize it’s a game as well. I have no clue how you can be invested in the hobby and not have an understanding on how to play the game. It completely changes your perspective on my certain cards are priced a certain way.
