March Brown Jingler
มุมมอง 1.5K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
The March Brown Jingler is a superb dry fly. This early-season pattern is a great mimic for various insects, particularly the March Brown mayfly, making it a fly that should be in every early season fly box. The March Brown Jingler's design gives the illusion of an insect fighting to break free from the surface film, this has shown to be irresistible to fish such as trout and grayling. This cap...
Fleeing Crab - Saltwater Flats fishing fly
มุมมอง 150ปีที่แล้ว
Got a request fro a client on a variation of the wellknown Perez Crab. After some gathering of material, trial and errors.. I came up with this.. With one of it’s arm tied in a 90 degree angle to the hook and one alligigned with the hook the thought is to mimic a fleeing crab, hence the name. Made it in a white/off white tone for the fisherman to be able to dye it as suited when out on the wate...

Tips & Tricks -Flank Feather Splitwing
มุมมอง 206ปีที่แล้ว
A flank feather splitwing fly is about as classic as it gets coming to classic dry flies. A type of wing that have been used since the early 1900’s. These wing can be made easy.. but if you want a wing that last better you might need something else. Im using a technique that are a mix between different old school techniques. Some might think I complicate things, but my split wings have nice all...

Caddis Larva is a food source for the trout all year long. A few variations to mimic those in the fly box are essential for all serious troutbums. Demonstrated here a beaded and a non beaded version to mimic the Rhyacophila specie of the caddis, a free drifting caddis larva.

Tying a Wolly Bugger
มุมมอง 150ปีที่แล้ว
Most Woolly Buggers are today tied with several ad ons, flash, rubberlegs etc. The original version originated 1967 by Russel Blessing, a passionate fisherman and tyer from Pennsylvania USA, had black marabou tail, olive chenile body and a black hackle. He tied it in other colours but this version was his favorite. Here is my take on that version. I use Ice dubbing insted of chenile as I like t...
Rubber Bugger
มุมมอง 364ปีที่แล้ว
Wooly Bugger’s.. out there in as many variation as there are tyers. A type of fly that has proven it’s worth, or maybe even it’s necessity over the years. Nice tie fly and explanation thanks
Well done, interesting with 2x whip finish - a good idea!
класна мушка
Beautiful fly!! A lot of work! Tight lines🐞🐜🦗!!!!!
Great demo, thanks.
Client asked for this color
Hmm so am I Tom the original March brown jingler..a pattern used on rivers such as the Tweed represents the dull faded brown of the March Brown which hatches in early spring..March and April. There is anOlive jinglerof course...representing the other early fly ...the large dark Olive. ..I dont know if you are in the UK ..both these are patterns and hatches in our Spring..on rivers such as Eden Tweed Don ... The doible hackle helps the tying sit well in the windy conditions that are found...including snow!!
I just tied 10 of these, but am curious why a fly with olive dubbing is called a "March Brown."
Excellent pattern ,should catch alot of species of fish.

Really nice how-to! Succinct, thorough, and clear. I'll try these soon on Little Cayman.
Nice, putting the hackle on early…smart!
🙏

Thank you. What dize would you make it for baby tarpoon?
@@ShadowFlies my favorite baby tarpon hook is a gamakatsu sc15 in size 1. the hook is a light wire and sticky sharp.
Looks good! Thank you!
Thanks 🙏
Very nice work. Thankyou.
Thank you..
Nice bug! Thank you for the subtitles!
Thank you
I have Klinkhammer hooks down to size 20 and have never used them .Now ,thanks to you I can .thanx Ken .( I will use EP fibres for the post).
Thanks.. Good luck, if you have issues, just ask.
you have a rotary vice ,why don't you use it? also, invest in a bobbin holder it makes tying so much easier.I don't have a Quill Gordon in my collection so I'll be tying some up thanx for the pattern. I WOULD TRIM A VERY SMALL "V" in the lower hackle fibres to allow the fly to ride flatter and lower on the surface of the water . thanx Ken
Hi.. I seldom use the rotary funktion 100%, but turn the vise a lot while tying normal. But filming with my mobilephone in front of me 10-15 cm away from the fly makes the fly out of focus if I do. I dont do V shaped hackle on classic flies😉
Very effective fly
More bonefish flies?
Excellent technics
Thank you
I have never seen someone wrap the thread through the hackle on a parachute until now and admittedly I was skeptical. I am impressed. Great time! 👍
It is how Hans Van Klinken did them from the beggining. You need thin thread though, I use Nano Silk 18/0, and I give the bobbin a twist before. Try it, will give you a far more durable fly.
I like it I can feel the fish already!!
These are very fishy..
Nice fly. Why no recipe?
Thank you. One of the earlier clips I made, forgot recipe. Led wire Copper wire Plastic Strip clear Ice dubb Olive
Nice tying tunes. And of course, the fly.
Thank you.
It is a beauty. Congrats and thanks for sharing.
I agree, a beauty of a fly.
A Simple to Tie Trout Taker! Well Done!
