Pretty nice.
I've always thought that was coral too, but an a friend from my local Arizona rock club says it's a sponge fossil. I like your videos!
Really nice pieces
@@NancyHamm-t9q yeah I was surprised how beautiful they turned out. Thanks for watching.
Hey Rich, awesome obsidian. You are a master cutter. Are these from the Mammoth area? Thanks for sharing sir
@@kennethbynum7839 No. I found this Obsidian in Northern California near Medicine Lake. I did find lots of obsidian near Mammoth. Check out my previous video about a year ago.
Beautiful

Stunning!!
Beautiful❤
@@KlaireSprengel thanks for watching
Beautiful Rich! Earrings or pendants?
@@RickSmith-kp3sy they might be too heavy for earrings so probably a small pendant.
Rich, how translucent is your mahogany obsidian? I know a lot of the other types of obsidian range from translucent to almost transparent with their different sheens giving them their names, but mahogany is iron stained, right? What's yours look like in this respect?
@@RickSmith-kp3sy no it’s not translucent. I’m sure it is iron stained in the obsidian. Wait till you see my video next week. I am currently cutting some incredible silver sheen obsidian that I found in the same place. Thanks for watching
Wow all so beautiful but the last one was a killer 🏆
@@upnorthadventureswithccc yep that was my favorite also
Wow- I love it!!
Beautiful!
@@NancyHamm-t9q yeah It turned out incredible
Wow! What a beautiful example of moss agate! Love the blue specks in it!
@@Fishmonger35 Thanks, I think it turned out really awesome!
That's exceptional Rich!❤

Impressive and inspiring, thanks for sharing your talent!
That's fantastic Rich! Love how you left the edge natural. ❤

Oh wow! That is fantastic!
Beautiful Sir.
Last one was absolutely stunning!

14:00 looked like desert rose when you first showed it, but desert rose is selenite. Selenite should cut like a hot knife though butter on your saw so when you said it was a hard cut, I knew that wasn't it. It looks like some kind of gigantic porphry crystal, or flowerstone. It looks like it's in basalt. The porphry crystals form differently in basalt or rhyolite as I understand it. Either way it's beautiful stuff.

Good Afternoon Rich's Outdoor Adventures " I LOVE ROCK'S" 🪨👍🤣👋❤️
You have to have a permit for this river! I’m betting no TH-camr has one!!! Illegal!
@@JoseyWilds I did have a permit. You shouldn’t assume TH-camrs don’t have permits. I was 100% legal.
Great find and another enjoyable cutting video. Thanks for sharing!
@@ChadHill-qg2ky thanks for watching
Like you said, beautiful brecciated pattern on the bottom. Not used used to seeing the colors in the breccia like that!❤❤❤
@@RickSmith-kp3sy yeah I was surprised as well. Thanks for watching.
Maybe the shiny rock cut at the 9 minute mark is a phyllite, a mildly metamorphosed greywacke sandstone...guessing it will likely at least partially disintegrate in the tumbler
@@chloecatlady5293 yes you are correct. That’s what it is. Thank you.
@RichsOutdoorAdventures you"re welcome and thank you for confirming. I'm an amateur rockhounder getting better at my rock identification
@@chloecatlady5293 i’m no expert at identifying rocks. It’s always a learning process.
Gorgeous rock!
@@matthewcarey7323 yeah that was a lucky find. Thanks for watching.
The back almost looks like the dendrites reflecting in water.
@@RickSmith-kp3sy yeah you’re right it does look like a reflection. Thanks for watching
Are you singing, “Can’t touch this”? Glad to see your okay.
@@ericmetzdorff8905 Hey Eric, they knocked this one down pretty fast. The one a year ago was much worse. It burned right up to the property line destroyed two homes and 2000 acres and I had to evacuate for five days so we’re a little on edge when there’s a fire in the area.
Bummer
Happy to hear your all ok
Just also poisoned your soil in that area for 1/2 mile circumference and spreading slowly out
Awesome flying! Happy to hear you are safe!
And is that fire retardant safe for the people and wildlife
God bless
They're spreading for ever chemicals
Glad it saved... But you're right in poisoning the soil and surrounding areas
Whoa.. God speed …on getting it put out
Except those chemicals will kill ya with cancer.
Don't know why used water instead of toxic fire retardant...🤷 🙃
Badass pilots
So glad you were spared! Great fly pilots!! God Bless!
they put their lives on the line to help others, fire fighters unlike the military have earned and deserve respect.
they put their lives on the line to help others, fire fighters unlike the military have earned and deserve respect. flying smack around, feeding kids laxatives blaming others for not being to win a war, riding around on the backs vet who did actually win a war, not being able to handle reality of not being able to win. locking up people who question their integrity. crying about cancel culture when they themselves are part of the cancel culture.
You can't say the military hasn't earned respect you wouldn't have the freedom to run your mouth if it wasn't for the military and for your info as a soldier we've deployed to fight fires as well so don't bad mouth the military members we do our jobs you have a problem it's with your elected leaders not the military get your facts straight because of anyone military members deserve respect for what they do you wouldn't have a country to live in if it wasn't for the military we all play a role and yes firefighters deserve respect also and so do emts and som police but tanks to service members you have your freedom to bad mouth the men and women who fought for you to be ignorant
@thomascarter7777 you cant have respect for losers who are sicario for an opoid cartel. .running my mouth that is just typical drivel from someone with no integrity who couldnt get a job so decided to become a target and biudge of the taxpayer. fight a fire win the fight earn some respect. if I say what i think there are consequences just like russia or china, if you didnt serve in WW2 you havent won a war only bludged of my tax. there is only one acceptable out come if you go to war that is to win. crying because you cant adapt on the battle field will get you no respect. the only reason the afghan war happened is because the heroin .from asia was no more and the teleban stopped production, the reason to withdraw was because fentynal took over. feeding the local kids on laxatives from care packages is a scumbag act and you dont have the spine to accept that you are losers so you blame someone else.
@@thomascarter7777Rodger that brother old vet here i stand with you brother
@jayjones6904 it's a sad world where people can go around talking bad on vets and service men and women but if they would just take a look at their lives they would realize it's thanks to them they have the freedoms they have we have to stand together in this mad world to keep each other up people don't realize what vetrans have been through for them and are killing themselves at an alarming rate because of the world today they have no support and we have to stand up for each other. Thank you for your service brother
@@thomascarter7777 it is a sad world where a whole society rides around on the backs of others then expect participation prizes because they cant win then i am forced to aknowledge it. when i look around i dont see many people speaking Vietnamese, the joint is not communist, you cant handle the reality that there is no second prize in war and you did nothing for anyones freedom.
Where is this? God Bless hope you’re safe!
Man that must be terrifying, I was part of construction for the Woolsey Fire in Malibu & the Coastal Fire in Laguna Niguel. Hope everyone is ok
@@4some2joe0 yeah we’re OK. They stopped the fire after I took that video. Thanks for watching
Kind of suspenseful honestly!
Is the petrified wood so dark because it was burned before it was petrified?
I feel like I can smell the pine trees, just beautiful!
