If you like these, check out FHCAM (Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum) in Washington State. They have so many various WW2 and similar era vehicles and history artifacts there. Previously owned by the late Paul Allen. Paul lovingly shared his collection with the people with live demonstrations of both air & land vehicles, even enacting certain battles with particular vehicles, Pacific Theater for example. And once a year in July they showcased everything in a huge event known as Skyfair. Now one of the Walton kids (Walmart owners) owns the collection. Unfortunately they are like the people who put plastic over their furniture, never to really be used or enjoyed. He finally started letting people go to the museum again but he's more selfish than Paul so we'll never see these live demonstrations there again.

These machines were so much fun back in the day. No insurance,no registration. Used to see them going up the local streets,through yards. Freedom. The evolution toward more and more horsepower made them dangerous,especially when mixed with alcohol

In the early to mid 1970s my dad had two Johnson snowmobiles . A skee horse and a golden ghost with reverse!

One sled I did not see was the Yamaha

Snowmobiles are a thing of the past. There are some around still but not as popular like they were in the 70's. Where I lived we see any way 50-60 in one group. Did not matter in the middle of the week or weekend. I counted upwards almost 100 snowmobiles.
