    Just an idea. But could the ba be the spirit, and the ca be the consciousness? Its clear they believed in ressurection of sorts that could come one day, thus the need to do these buriel rituals. I know that the scarab was used as way to carry the conciousness to a realm to live until its time to come back when the body can one day be ressurected.

    Jim was a great man, he understood the lies of Roman Catholicism and the truth of the ancient Gnosis of which Christ, the Essenes and the first Christian communities were the continuers. The same truth that illuminated the mind of his friend P.H. Dick in March 1974, both accused of insanity. "The Empire has never ceased but will be destroyed when Buddha is in the park".

      I first searched out your father when I heard Robert Sapolsky mention him in a lecture a few years ago. I was so inspired by his incredibly elegant “frog’s eye” paper. I’ve also enjoyed reading his chapter in The History of Neuroscience in Autobiography. He had such wit and such a gift for the pen. I’m just starting in my science career but I’m doing work along the lines of old-school neurophysiology, only with more current tools and deeper perceptual systems. I strive to do work that would impress the great Jerry Lettvin! Listening to this lecture with great interest - Best wishes!

    Well as brilliant as he was, he was stunningly wrong about his prediction that we would never be able to map the human genome or build an accurate model of the universe. I like to think he would be stunned at the amount of progress we have made since he gave this lecture in the 80's.

    • @shaccooper
      @shaccooper 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      False. As he stated, there is still no accurate model of the “complete” universe, nor will there ever be, unless you misspoke by stating “accurate.” Otherwise, yes, there actually 3 or4 distinctly proposed models of the universe in circulation

    Talking sense. I really get this on a deep level, especially what he says about the Kingdom. Pretty close to my own theology. Incidentally I found this video because I had a dream I was in the Judean desert and saw Bishop Pike's footprints in a dried-up puddle.

    Whoa is me, all I have to visualize the solar system, galaxy, universe, multiverse is my brain. Earth is a closed loop that self regulates co2 with LIFE. Energy is neither created nor destroyed. On this planet. All energy comes from and or goes to the electromagnetic Toroidal fields we call the sun and or the galactic nucleus. Temperature rises first and co2 follows. Cause and effect. Not cart before the horse forcing bs. Covid19 like co2 is a lie built upon an inconvenient truth. The baby boomers who were born enmass 75 years ago are starting to die from the usual suspects of seasonal FLU and old age. The mask of the SUN beast is just a pretext for the VACCINE contact tracing mark of the beast. Your not going to stop or cure the Baby BOOMER Bust due to Seasonal FLU and old age. Jesus loved all races because there is only one race the HUMAN race. We are being divided to be conquered, again. Tower of babel.

    To say the least, Platonism and Christianity share an uneasy alliance since Platonism sounds like a rational way to understand certain Christian concepts. Of course, the whole point of the Messiah is that it is a trust in YHVH that allows one access to the Kingdom--not a specific philosophy per se.

    • @williamjohnson1739
      @williamjohnson1739 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Philosophers and historians are rationalists. They won’t believe Christianity unless they first understand it. But you can’t understand Christianity unless you first believe it. You have to accept the Christian world view in order to understand the biblical explanations. The philosophers don’t believe the basic assumptions of Christianity when they study it, and so of course they end not believing it when they finish.
