that's not how it works, let's say it's 2 charges, it's going to land on someone a 100%, and then there is a 1/40 probability the same person gets railed since it is random. You calculated the chance a specific person (Fandy in this case) gets hit twice. Someone said in the video it happens every few raids, and that it probably already happened this one as well. One small or big buff would've saved her. Compare with this, getting hit is throwing a six. the odds of me throwing 2 sixes with 2 dice is 1/36, because throwing a 6 is a 1/6 chance. However, 1 of the 40 people is going to get hit either way, so a six is thrown, and then the odds of throwing another six is 1/6, so it's a 1/40 chance of happening But this is the real equation: P = 1 - (40/40 x 39/40) = 0.025 , which is 1/40 39/40 means someone other than the first person gets hit Which means this happens quite often but apparently it targets only people who are on the threat list and in range (40 yd) of the Firewalkers, it blasts for 6 seconds every second (so 6 charges). So the real probability is something else entirely lol, as a healer she was probably on the threat list so this happening is actually pretty damn likely, although kinda sad that she got hit twice in a row with no time to react Let's say all 40 are on the threat table and in range: Odds of no one getting hit twice is P = (40/40 x 39/40 x 38/40 ... 35/40) = 0.875, so out of a 1000 engagements with a firewalker "only" 875 of them no one will get hit twice. (It gets more difficult if you count someone might get hit thrice or more, but it seems to launch the player away from the mob so getting hit more than twice might be really unlikely for other reasons, bc of the 40 yard range. getting hit twice in a row is still 1/40 I think

Therefore doesn’t that mean she did it to herself by getting hit 3 times. I would’ve assumed they had some sort of protective measure up for people only targeted once right?
